Dang, I saw the title and was thinking almost exactly the same thing. Superman's writers have to really stretch to come up with any challenge for him, as he's been set up with next to no weaknesses, but overbearing strengths. If you go down the years you can see some of the guys in charge of the title try to come up with various plot tricks (kyrptonite, magic, etc).

The sheen looks to be the result of the person taking the picture with a phone -- or because they increased the brightness abnormally in photoshop. The cover, as released on the magazine's website, does not have as much sheen.
Superman is pretty far from a boring character -- we just have't seen a passable version of the character on screen for 30 years. Word from early screenings is that this movie has more action than any other comic book movie.

Can't say if the movie will be good, but Shannon is a great choice for Zod imo.

As for Superman, he's always been dull but I wonder if that doesn't change. I think a lot of people want to see him get in an epic battle with someone just as strong as he is, but more ruthless - which is why the Death of Superman Saga makes perfect sense... right up until there are 20 different Superman wannabe's.
It's like Ironman. You new the last fight wasn't gonna be him vs jets or tanks. It had to be what it was.

Spoiler's ahead: This movie has about 5 major action set pieces, in addition to smaller scenes of Superman/young Clark using his powers. One of which is Superman fighting Zod's robot army where he's shredding through them using his heat vision. I've been waiting for 30 years to see something like that. To be honest, I'm curious to see how they fit all that into a 2.5 hour movie.TheCount;5020131 said:
