First Must Win Game?

This game is must-win on only one front. If we lose, there is a segment of the fans that might truly jump off the ledge because they are softer than charmin.

Aside from that, heck now, this ain't no must win game. Not even close.

It's definitely a game that could put our backs against the wall. That doesn't motivate them oh well

I want to see how this team responds. I expect the DEF will feel the same about the offense. DAL wins, but it's far from a MUST win.

..its a must win game from the standpoint of getting back on track quickly. That would say alot about Dallas. Emphasis on GB being a good team with winning record. In return helps team bravado as the schedule begins to pick up heat.

..buy hey, if we lose ....I don't know you guys.. ...JK....;)...

We'll see how you feel about that when we have to travel to NO or GB for the playoffs (if we make them) because they hold the tiebreaker for beating us. This is not the NBA or MLB. Contrary to what some believe, NFL seasons are not long. Every game counts...

There a far far cry from every game counts to must win game.

Of course it's a must win game.

The Saints already have the tiebreaker on us. The packers are another threat to the #1 seed.

I thought we as fans were all on the same page. Win the damn sb. Everybody acts like we have this huge cushion and theres so much house money to go around.

This is a must win. We need to know if this team is for real or not.

OK, calm down, you knew it was coming, just a matter of time but feel free to blast me anyway. Someone already beat me to the punch, stole my thunder and don't think for a minute I have forgotten that.

I guess whether you consider this a must win game depends on where you put your emphasis, on those 3 wins or that 1 loss.

This team is going to see a lot of these "must win" games because of the head to head being the first tiebreaker and the Cowboys are already behind one contender and playing another Sunday. Now, if you think they're going to take the division then it doesn't matter but anyone thinking the Eagles were just going away hasn't watched their resilience. Or maybe you're on "Wentz Injury Watch"?

I think there are "must win" games during the season but also agree the real definition is that game that ends the season is the only real "must win" but might this upcoming game be just that if the Cowboys tie with GB for the WC only to sit home because they lost to them in October, well before the "must win" games usually emerge?

The Saints look to be the frontrunner in the South so that loss may not matter unless the conference record gets applied but the Packers? That North looks to be a 4 team fight and the West is a 3 teamer and add the Eagles to this and that's 9 teams for 2 WC spots, 3 will be division winners so that leaves 6 teams for 2 spots. What a coincidence, the Cowboys have 7 games left against 6 of those contenders and the possibility of head to head tiebreaker with 5 of them.

So, think we can't have a "must win" game this early in the season? You must have more faith in those first 3 games and ability to replicate that than that 1 game showed some weakness. And I didn't even get into the confidence factor of losing 2 in a row. Win and that loss can be chalked up to being an anomaly, lose and that can be a trend against contenders and the record only really counts against contenders and the Cowboys are 0-1.

They'd better treat this game Sunday as a playoff game because they've got a lot of them left on the schedule.
you make a good point, what are the 7 games and teams??
I would say this is a must win for if we dont win div.

Personally, the way this team has squandered their opportunities over the past 23 years, if I were the coach I'd treat every game like we could be eliminated from playoff contention if we lost. It's time for this team to start playing with some urgency. Zeke, Lawrence and Witten really let this team down in NO. It's frustrating as hell (to a fan) to not know what team is going to show up week to week...

I agree they need to win and need to treat it like one but I can't call it a must win. Even if they lose they should go 4-2. Philly would be the must win. A must win to me is a game you have to have in order to make the playoffs.

I will say this guys...I won't be sad if they lock Rod Marinelli in a closet for the game on Sunday. Dude is 2-14 against Rodgers.

If you knew what the meaning of what a must win game was, you wouldn't ask such a question

As long as we go 5-2 into the BYE week, we will be fine. A loss against GB, & then wins against Jets & Eagles is a good sign.

Of course, winning against GB would be awesome. Its time to get revenge on Rodgers.

If we lose to GB and NO, that tells me we can't beat good teams and that it is not a good sign. Especially GB at home without Adams and then NO without Brees.

If we lose, then we are 0-2 against two potential playoff contenders............that makes a wildcard very difficult.

Nobody needs to jump off a ledge, but acting like a loss is just no big deal is also just as ridiculous.
