That may be a bit high for Jefferson but I would love it if our draft fell that way.

Like it quite a bit, agree with Kaiser on Jefferson

That's basically standard fare at first pick for moving down in the first.

Actually in all the draft value charts moving down from 19 to 26 gets you the 3rd round pick plus a 4th or 5th - but not a 2nd. Even trading 19 for 26 and 58 is a fairly big overpayment.

With a more "realistic" trade...

I like the effort but there is no way that Derwin James falls to #26. In fact, he won't fall to #19 but if he does we sure as heck better not trade down. We just need to take him at #19. He is projected to go Top 10 on most draft boards. Kolton Miller won't make it past the 2nd round and I doubt very seriously if Tim Settle falls that far. You went from an unrealistic trade to an unrealistic draft.

I just pick from what is there.
Every year there are players that drop way below what the "experts" are saying, you never know...
Just last year Lewis wasn't supposed to make it out of the second.
I remember there was NO way Stephen Jackson could drop to our pick (and we didn't pick him).
etc.

Just curious. What draft site are you using? I play around on fanspeak some.

I hear what you are saying. However, Lewis dropped out of the 2nd round because he was set to face trial for a domestic violence charge that was later dropped after we drafted him. At the time he was a gamble.

A'shawn Robinson, Scooby Wright, there are always a ton of players that drop.
If you take the top 5 "publications" you'll probably get around 40 different names, that means 8 "dropped" if you do that for 2 rounds you'll probably get 85 names instead of 64, for 3 rounds around 135 instead of 96...
There will always be a ton of "reaches" and a good amount of "steals"...
