We wasted two first round draft picks on Joey Galloway, since we've made up for it by gaining some serious talent.

Marc Columbo
Adam Jones
Leonard Davis

Free agency and cold hard cash can make up for draft mistakes.:starspin

Or it can compound those mistakes.

But hes right, we've added some big time free agents that have panned out for us. Lets hope Adam does as well.

We could have easily kept both Keyshawn Johnson, and Joey Galloway. In fact we probably would still have Joey Galloway to this day. And the man is doing some serious work. We wouldn't be nearly as worried about our 2nd receiver.

And had first-year head coach Dave Campo not kept the starters on the field late in the first game of the season against the Eagles as punishment for getting blown out at home (this after the Cowboys had run camp in Wichita Falls during a summer of blistering heat), Galloway wouldn't have blown out his knee for nothing and lost an entire season. Who knows how he'd have panned out?

Which is why we shouldn't be so quick to sail Glenn down the river on his knee problems. An ACL tear in your knee is a potentially career threatening injury and cousin Joey came back and served Tampa Bay very well.

That's why I'm not willing to give up on Glenn just yet... at least not until a piss-poor training camp or physical proves me wrong.

I totally agree with you. Glenn's pretty inexpensive, even if he gets his full contract. And even if he's a part-time player, I believe he still can make plays. He's coming off not ligament damage, but cartilage cleanup, which is not as serious. At this point, there's nothing to lose, really, and much to gain if he's able to contribute anything near what he did in 2006.

Right, and even if he only plays 4 games (God forbid) then he's still cheaper per game than T.O. is... even his full salary (minus and injury clause) is chump change.

I guess it's better than talking about Bob Hayes :D

But you are right, man this season can't come soon enough.

Not as seriously but potentially more dangerous for the knee itself. Once a ligament ahs been repaired they tend to stay that way.

No Cartilage = Bone on Bone (and you have no idea of the pain that causes)

It's actually sad... back in the day, I loved baseball (until the infamous lockouts of 94-95)...

Unfortunately for baseball, 94-95 also happened to be great years for the 'Boys, so they lost my full-attention near permanently because of it. Sadly, I've become a fair weather fan now, so since the Rangers have sucked during most of the 13 year time period since then, I've kind of ignored the MLB.

Then again, when I was die-hard MLB, Don Mattingly and the Yankees were my team anyway, so the Rangers were never able to hold my attention long enough to become entrenched in my soul. Oh well... another thread for another board I suppose.

Actually, I have every idea of how much pain that causes, having had cartilage damage. I've also had to rehab from ACL replacement, and the two don't compare. ACL rehab is agonizing. Glenn hasn't had a history of these knee problems, so at his age, it's still a good gamble he'll be able to play. Since he doesn't have a lot of years left anyway, there aren't the same kinds of concerns as there would be were Glenn, say, 26. Basically, he plays or his career is likely done, and even if he becomes the #3 receiver, the WR corps will still have a major upgrade over 2007.

Ever since baseball became a pure mercenary sport, I've lost interest. The fact that the Yankees can pay out more in luxury taxes than some teams entire payrolls is ludicrous. Pro football, for all its faults, is run amazingly well, and the competitive balance is tremendous. But, yeah, enough about baseball.

First round draft picks to replace the bad joey galloway trade are as follows;
Terry Glenn # 1 from New England
Marc Columbo # 1 from Chicago
Leonard Davis # 1 from Cardinals
Adam Jones # 1 from Tennessee

Ken Hamlin # 2 from Seattle
Tank Johnson # 2 from Bears
T O Terrell Owens # 2 from 49ers

# 1 Marcus Spears in trade with Buffalo
# 1 Felix Jones in trade with Cleveland

so yessss, Jerry Jones has revamped that poor trade for joey galloway, most players want to play for Dallas knowing that they can get a good contract, now its time for those players to step up and win the Dallas Cowboys some championships;
