Oh, he has a legacy.

It's just not a good one.
I agree but he has a chance to change some of this legacy this coming Monday night. I do not think Dak is a good QB but I will be rooting for him big time against Tampa Bay. He has a chance to quiet all the critics, including myself. Lets see if he can do it. For me this is it. If he comes out and lays an egg, it is time to move on.

I don't care how "broadcasting" changes legacies for people.

Once they no longer have that star on their helmet I couldn't careless if they become loved or loathed.

Did I care that Jason Witten was horrible as a broadcaster? Nope.

Do I care that Romo is pretty liked as one? Nope.
It's not even just the broadcasting.

Nobody rips Witten's legacy as a TE because he was a lousy broadcaster.

Talk to NFL fans nowadays and when Romo the QB is brought up, he's well respected as one of the better QBs of his era. Not an "elite HOFer" but a very good QB nonetheless.

That's what happens over time.

Without the hot takes from the bozos on TV or on social media, what "rises to the top" is the fact that Romo WAS a damn good QB. The numbers certainly bear that out.

The same will happen with Dak, once it's all said and done.

Hopefully Dak will have more playoff success than Romo to shut up his naysayers (he should tie Romo in playoff wins Monday night), but eventually there's this thing called "reality" that has a funny way of rearing its ugly head.

You'll see.

1 game shouldn't change anything for you.

Dak all of a sudden isn't going to be a good QB if we win on Sunday.

If you believe right now, after 7 years, that we should move on from him then why would a Wild Card win against a 7-8 team change that?

I'd actually love to see Dak try and breakdown plays and read defenses in real time on Sundays in the broadcast booth. I think that would explain a lot of his issues as a player and I highly doubt whatever his legacy is at that point would be helped by it.

At the very least it would be must watch TV.

You're still stuck on the broadcasting.

Romo the QB would be well respected today even if he never became a broadcaster, although the broadcasting success has helped.

And he was the most criticized QB in the league when he played, just like Dak is now. Comes with the territory of being a Cowboy.

I am not just talking about Monday nights game. I am talking about the entire playoffs for this year. He needs to get to at least the NFC Championship game and plays well is all these game for me to think we have any hope going forward with this guy. Like i said, I have my doubts but we will see.

Josh Allen also nearly carried his team to the Superbowl last year. He gave his team the lead over the chiefs with about 15 seconds left.

He was criticized for ints by the media this year.

But he also has shown the ability to play at his best when the stakes are the highest. Not to mention he is pretty much the bills running game by himself.
He’s 1-8 in one score games . He’s a big strong guy but has not proven a thing yet.

That's our cap dollars he has in his bank account which we could use to pick up some more talent.
But as a Dak groupie who puts the Cowboys after your man crush your response and satisfaction with his finances are understandable.
Those are his dollars that he earned.....envy is a deadly sin.

I’ve always been pretty much a middling on this board with Dak. I get he can go lights out and I get he can wet the bed. I don’t hate or love the guy. Nothing Nick Wright said…and I can’t stand the guy…was wrong. He literally pointed out the stats/records. Until he does note this is what we have. Start changing it vs Bucs

Actually everyone has a legacy. The term doesn't only refer to greatnesss. There can be a legacy of greatness, above average play, underachieving, mediocrity, disappointment ...

If talking about greatness, I agree that Dak doesn't have that legacy.

But how many QB's do without playoff success?

Aikman wouldn't have that legacy without the playoff success. His stats weren't good enough on their own.

With Dak, his legacy is still to be determined, but for now it's obviously not what Cowboy fans would hope for.
