Hey all,

Just wanted to make my first post on here ever. Can't wait for the weekend, as it will be my first time ever in Dallas, and obviously first game at the new Cowboys Stadium!

Flying down from DC on Saturday, hoping to see what the tailgate scene has to offer, taking in the game against the hated iggles, and then spending a few hours before taking an early morning flight home. Gonna be going with no sleep the whole time.

I'm getting more and more pumped by the minute. Hope to meet up with some CZers around the stadium.

On another note, for anyone who has traveled to the games; is it better to rent a car and try to find a decent parking area around the stadium, or cabbing it to/from the stadium. It doesn't seem like much of a cost difference, just wondering from anyone who has prior experience.

Thanks in advance, and can't wait until Saturday!

Let me tell you.... It just gets bigger as you drive towards it. My fiance surprised we tickets to the Titans preseason game (Very first game in the new stadium), and it was an AMAZING experience.

I highly recommend going back on Sunday for a stadium tour. They take you out on to the field towards the end. I even brought home a few "souvenirs" I got on the tour.

Where are your seats?

Psst!
The Stadium is not in Dallas.

Welcome and enjoy!
Be sure to stand at the base of the glass entrance and look up. WOW!

in response to the above, me and my friend are not staying in a hotel, just going for the game, then hanging out through the night til an early morning flight back to DC.

We got tickets in the 2nd row of section 408. Looked like a decent view, and got a great price.

Also, I know the stadium is in Arlington, but since I live in Arlington VA, it sounds better saying Dallas, haha.

Can't wait for tomorrow!

You sound just like me maaaaaaaan... flying out of DCA on US Airways tomorrow at 1... coming back to DC on that 7am Sunday flight

I'm renting a car from Alamo for $27 and staying at one of the cheesy hotels nearby for like $60 and most likely just walking to stadium after that.... it's probably the same cost as cabbing it, but much more convenient

Sad part is that I've got a decent hook-up at the Ritz Carlton, but it's almost a waste for me to even bother with downtown Dallas at all with the time allowed...

anyway, if you see me... holler... I'll be in the airport Cowboys gear'd up

I would probably rent a car so that you can just crash out in it at night with the engine on and the heater going.....cuz it's going to be 20 degrees that night....just remember that parking is suuper expensive....bout $40-60 depending

dude, you're gonna FREAK when you see the stadium for the first time!!

HAHA YEAH!

I did the same thing for the opening game vs Giants.

Flew out of NY in morning. (connected at Atl)
Went to Bar with a few members of the Zone.
Went to game.
Went back to bar.
Went to airport.
Slept a few hours.
Took off back to NY

I was soooo mad they lost but now it looks like that was a turning point for Romo so I dont care. Only the end matters. Feb hoisting the trophy!

Yeah, if I pay that much for parking, I'm just going to crash in the car. No heater going. I have an electric blanked that plugs into the cigarette lighter...tailgating gear at its finest!

I am sooooooo happy for everyone who gets to go to the first playoff game at the new stadium. I can't wait for next year too, hopefully our Cowboys will be the first home team playing in a Super Bowl in their own stadium!

I figured it made more sense to just get a room nearby at one of the small motels. I found a Studio Plus for $55. Check-in there, park for free, walk to stadium, and rest if need be after the game and before the flight back. Beats just paying $40 or so for parking. Then again I'm just using Google Maps. It says the motel is 1.7 miles from stadium. I have no issue walking. If it turns out to be a longer walk, maybe I'll have to hitch with someone driving in or something.

I'm jealous. You guys are going to have a ball. The place is awesome and I'm sure all the fans are going to be going nuts. Enjoy the game and yell extra loud for me.

From experience a taxi is all great going to the game. But, when the game is over there is a huge line for taxi's and it will take you quite a bit of time to just get thru that line. But, it looks like you got plenty of hanging around time on your hands, so maybe that would not to be bad.

If you're going to do that, watch the drinking. If the cops see you sleeping in the car. They could give you a DWI, or a PI.

that may be a pretty good hike, i think that motel is north of interstate 30
