MM would have to damn near make history for us to make the playoff year 1. Kick late start of training camp, he's obviously fighting some long odds.

that's my assumption as well, but that is not what the tweet says. Says superbowl winning coach in his first year with a new team, which was Parcells in his first year in dallas. I think he was left off because that didn't fit the narrative.

His first season with the Jets was also not listed because he didn't win a superbowl with the Patriots I am assuming.

It's written poorly but it appears to be the team you coached after winning with the previous team. That said he is the only one on the list with more than 1 stop, so who knows.

Those records are indicative of the fact that those coaches went to bad teams. Good news for McCarthy and the Cowboys is that he’s inheriting and talented team that was simply coached to under achieve. No reason why this team can’t advance deep into the playoffs.

Here we go again with all the "talent". The offense is solid no one will dispute that but defense and special teams are putrid and the team is top heavy and paper thin. It is the classic Cowboy roster that you have been watching for 20 years now. You can expect a fast start to the season. You can expect fire works on offense. You can expect very little impact from the defense. You can expect the special teams to be a negative. You can expect a few key injuries to slow us down later in the year. Then you can expect us to limp into the playoffs and exit quickly or miss them all together by losing the final game of the year to a decimated NFC east opponent.

I know you guys want to be optimistic and hopeful but there is literally now over 20 years of evidence and absolutely nothing has changed with the way the Cowboys rosters are built.

mac is taking over a better team than the aforementioned.
Exactly. Most if not all of those coachs were heading into rebuilds. Also at time periods where it was much harder for bottom tier teams to compete on the field.

Defense is far more average than putrid.

What you don't expect is crap coaching!! We've expected that every year for a decade now! And how's it built? They drafted Dline , young corners? Shifted LBs. Grabbed FA DTs. Looking to upgrade STs. This team is most certainly not built the same. That's all in 3 months. Nothing like Jerrys drafts of old. Or the Galloway/Williams trades? The Special Teams draft? on and on it goes. lol

This team finally got smarter with better coaching and now they build on 2020. What happened before was the nightmare that was never going away with Garrett for 13 years and the Wade Phillips hire. Just ridiculous. Setup to fail from day 1. If you think what's happening right now is the same thing then you weren't really paying attention the past 25 years. Management decisions were absolutely pathetic on a regular basis from drafts to coaching hires (minus BP) to free agency.. Someone is finally realizing it takes all of those things. Churning that roster is a constant cycle that revolves around smart decisions and they're finally making them!
