I'd be okay with this move only if they don't get a corner in the first three rounds of the draft. I didn't see the Bengals play last year at all but I know they had a horrible pass defense.

Sudden interest in Kirkpatrick makes me think something similar.

They could be serious about adding Adams which will cost them the draft capital to land a CB in first three rounds and/or they realized Henderson and Okudah will be long gone by 17, while all other quality CBs are later 1st round/early 2nd round guys.

why would they all of sudden pay more than 1st RD pick for Adams when they didnt do it last year ? now he has 1 less year on his contract left.

5th year (team) option since he was a 1st round pick.

2017 6th overall pick - 1st season - 1st team All-Rookie
2018 2nd season - 2nd Team All-Pro - Pro Bowl
2019 3rd season - 1st Team All-Pro - Pro Bowl
2020 4th season (this upcoming year)
2021 5th season

Also, the Jets wanted a 1st round pick and a future HOF O Lineman (T. Smith or Zack Martin).

Jamal Adams is worth more than the 17th pick. How much more is up for debate.

I don't believe a single smoke screen week of draft. Dallas could have explored this month ago. Likely means Dallas is targeting CB in 1st round and maybe have to trade to get him and already are planting diversions.
