Fish: Cowboys QB Change Behind Dak Prescott Means Exploring Top 7 Options

I am saying Mac Jones signed a 2 year deal with the Niners and Trance is unemployed.

I am also saying, Mac Jones is who Shanahan originally wanted and did not want Trance.

I am also saying, signing Mac Jones, gives Shanahan some leverage with the Purdy negotiations. How did the Trance leverage workout with Dak's correct???
It worked out great…for Dak.

Cooper Rush has a better arm than Quin Ewers. Better not be him.
Ewers is a Day 3 draft pick as far as talent goes. Mediocre arm. Can be accurate but he doesn’t have a lot of power with his arm.

One of the biggest mistakes we all make as fans is watching a player at a blue-blood program like Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, etc who looks great because he is completely surrounded by first round talent. At the very least that talent makes their job a lot easier.

I’m a Texas Tech fan who has watched a ton of Tech games in person over the years. Patrick Mahomes looked great against Texas and OU without a lot of talent around him. He never had a defense which is why he threw for 700 yards against OU but lost 66-59. Imagine scoring 50+ every week and losing?

Anyway be careful about falling in love with guys that look good on highlight reels but have four first round picks blocking for them.

Nope.

Terrible QB's don't have anywhere close to the kind of college career he had.
Tim Tebow?

There are plenty more college QBs with a more decorated collegiate career than Howard who flames out once they weren't surrounded by 5 stars and great coaching.

I watched him in the big 12 while he was at Kansas state and wasn't impressed. He ia a system qb and flourished in a great scheme with 1st round talent as his weapons at Ohio state but i don't see the elite arm talent of a franchise qb.

Howard was a great college QB. He may be good at the next level but probably not immediately.

NFL history is full of names of great college QBs that never did much in the pros. Not saying Howard is one of them. But there are a ton over the years who fit that description.

Yep. Agreed how Will Howard benefitted being on an Ohio State team loaded with weapons on offense (RBs & WRs), great Oline and a stout defense.

But Dak can't have such weapons. He can only have CeeDee and make it work with only 1 weapon while opposing defenses double-team CeeDee and shut down our run and pass due to no weapons.

Yep,It's All About Having Top Notch Offensive Weapons Around You For a QB Like Howard. Howard Was Certainly Surrounded By That At Ohio St..But So Much For Dak With The Cowboys IMO..

Even Free Agent WR Brandin Cooks says Dallas doesn't do enough to help Dak Prescott.

Anyway, The Most Importantly, It's Critical For Any Young QB Coming Into The NFL Having Enough Talent Around You And a Great Culture/Environment To Walk Into.

But As For Me "DC4L" I Dont Think It Would Be a Good Environment Culture For Howard If He Were To Be Drafted By The Cowboys.

With Chip Kelly Former Ohio St OC And Now The OC For The Raiders,Don't Be Surprised If The Raiders Make a Push To Go After Will Howard In The 2025 NFL Draft

So With All That,Toledo Boy Says OSB4L "Ohio St Buckeye For Life"
