Fish: Cowboys QB Change Behind Dak Prescott Means Exploring Top 7 Options

It will be interesting who goes first in the Draft ND QB or Ohio St QB
According to Mel on 3-16:

Quarterbacks
1. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
2. Cam Ward, Miami
3. Jaxson Dart, Mississippi
4. Tyler Shough, Louisville
5. Will Howard, Ohio St.
6. Kyle McCord, Syracuse
7. Jalen Milroe, Alabama
8. Dillon Gabriel, Oregon
9. Quinn Ewers, Texas
T-10. Riley Leonard, Notre Dame
T-10. Kurtis Rourke, Indiana

The one wild card would be bringing back Trey Lance, who so far isn’t generating any buzz in free agency.

Dallas will either make a trade for a veteran quarterback or they will look to the draft for one.

Drafting a quarterback later in the draft and developing him to either take over if Prescott goes down unexpectedly, or even be Prescott’s eventual successor, is probably the right move.

Getting it right is the challenge. The Cowboys were lucky in 2016 when they drafted Prescott.

Tyler Lockett

Keenan Allen

If you made me pick tomorrow, I would sign Tyler Lockett and see what he can bring you for a one-year deal. Signing him does not make you any worse, and you add a guy that can still produce enough.

Do I think he makes the Cowboys a top 10 offense? Of course not, but he takes them out of the cellar, that is for sure. I guess we will see what happens.

Quinn Ewers, Texas

Quinn Ewers demonstrates a significant lack of consistency and touch in the short passing game; even simple screens and dump-offs often become problematic.

Under pressure, his field vision declines quickly, and he always fails to process through progressions when the pocket becomes chaotic.

He needs NFL development at the elevated level. Now protect the quarterbacks and grow underneath needs growth.
