Fish - Cowboys to target Quinn Ewers

would definitely draft him but we would still need a backup QB this season.
I don't disagree. I think a veteran will be signed at some point. I don't think we will go into the season with Will Grier being the primary backup.

I thought that maybe the front office could get Russell Wilson to come in as the backup, since he had his most success under No-Schott, but then I remembered that long gone are the days when the Joneses would bring in bona fide players as backups (plus Wilson may be looking for a starting shot or bust).

Hopefully, Ewers goes before 44 so they don't miss out on a running back, or dtackle, or corner.

I like Ewers as a Fourth Round draft pick....just like Dak. BUT I don't think he will fall that far.

Horns fans and critics could not wait to get Ewers outta UT ... and get started on the Archie Manning era

They were fed up with his suspect decision making (turnovers) ..and suspect pocket presence.

One can hope he can take a step up on those flaws at the NFL level.
The only reason was Manning. Otherwise, dude is a pretty good QB. IMO.

I can't comprehend the awesome power of a QB room that would have Dak, the scrub we traded for, and Ewers.
Prescott, Milton, Ewers.

I like it.

Why?
Been saying in other threads the team plan at QB is starting to look eerily similar to Romo's last couple years. They are married to Dak's contract for two more years but I honestly think they are ready to begin moving on from the player. In other words, Stephen admitted they hope to draft a young QB. Everyone assumed it would be a late rounder but it appears he could be a day-2 guy to serve as Dak's back AND potential replacement.
Interesting take.

Hate to break it to ya ... but with the Milton trade, the Quinn Ewers draft selection is outta the water now ...
I don't think so. Why can't they develop two QBs. They're paying Milton like a #3 anyway.

Some of you guys are seriously underestimating this guy.

He could be one of the better QBs in this class. He's got that moxie factor to him that you can't teach. He's made some bad decisions, at times. But he definitely has what it takes between the ears.

This just in......Ewers stinks. The only people who should be targeting him is Home Depot or Whataburger. Why would any FO advertise that they are targeting a middling prospect like Ewers. His ceiling is Cooper Rush.

I don’t get the hate Ewers gets I like him but his career trajectory is probably that of Sam Howell.

That being said…you have Milton. Let’s use those picks on needs. Now it gets to a point where you have to take him. If he’s there in the 5th or 6th round take him.

Better arm than Rush.

We need a guy to help us dismount.

If he slips to the 5th round by some sort of miracle then you take him. I think he goes not later then round 4. He has played a ton of football and is tough and smart . He doesn't have a big arm, UT he has more arm then Cooper Rush.

Hilarious.

Ewers is better than a 5th round pick. I'd bet he doesn't make it out of the 2nd. You may even see back of the first.

He's Tony Romo-esque. Dude is a baller. I'd be way stoked if we drafted Ewers.
