Last time we took RB in the first the guy had god like ability and it still ended up being a disaster. Draft O line early. Draft RB later.
Fans are idiots. They certainly could do both. This is the mentality of Jones. One or the other, not none or both.
Idiots.
26 really isn't a first round pick.Last time we took RB in the first the guy had god like ability and it still ended up being a disaster. Draft O line early. Draft RB later.
What?Fans are idiots. They certainly could do both.
Fans are idiotsWhat?
You can get great backs later on. Plus the run game is more dependent on the Oline than the back. Spend high picks and money on the line.Well I wouldn't expect any difference !!!! It's a multi-dimensional pick that helps both run and passing game.
It's hardly picking at no.4...we are talking getting a similarly ranked back as Zeke 22 pi ks later. He'll certainly help Dak, e.g. The 9ers won't rely on just 4 man run blocking
If your talking 9 million per year for 2 years I might do that. Wouldnt go 3 years. One year 10 million hurts your cap space for this season. I am talking about signing Pollard for a 3 year 18 million in guarantees a fake 3 year 30 million dollar contract. I bet he signs that. Zeke has us afraid of giving another any money.
Jones missed the entire season, not sure how healthy he is.They need to draft a more powerful McGovern that can play tackle or center as well as guard. I just don’t trust Tyron. I want him to be our swing tackle. A good 2nd corner back makes our secondary elite. It the the right one falls to 26 we might have to pull the trigger. Downey thinks Byron Jones gets released by Miami and thinks we should take a flyer on him.
Fans complained about them using the tag on Schultz last year and that worked out just fine. They can tag Pollard and draft a running back. It could be Robinson or somebody else later. They will draft best player available at 26. That could be Robinson, corner, oline, or even linebacker, or dline. What?
Zeke was a good player. He wasn't a disaster. They just paid too much for a second contract.Last time we took RB in the first the guy had god like ability and it still ended up being a disaster. Draft O line early. Draft RB later.
Robinson at 26 could be an outstanding investment.Bijan's a great player. If he's there at 26, he'll likely be BPA.
That said, the RB position doesn't warrant the 26th pick for this team.
Bad long term investment, and honestly, probably a bad short term investment, too. Long term, I'd rather use 26 on a trench player. Short term, I'd rather trade the 26th pick to get someone like Jalen Ramsey or Jerry Jeudy, and address RB later.
That said, the Jones' would likely take Bijan because he'll sell jerseys and tickets.
So you're advocating to draft for need.....not a sound principle. Plus the individual RB certainly makes a difference cough, cough Zeke vrs Pollard. As I say, if he falls to 26, he's the BPA, difference maker and helps Dak so we need him.You can get great backs later on. Plus the run game is more dependent on the Oline than the back. Spend high picks and money on the line.
At 26 I would see them taking Robinson, guard from Florida, corner, Sanders from Arkansas, or trade back for Gibbs from Arkansas. They will also need to get receiver from somewhere, either draft, free agent, or trade. So you're advocating to draft for need.....not a sound principle. Plus the individual RB certainly makes a difference cough, cough Zeke vrs Pollard. As I say, if he falls to 26, he's the BPA, difference maker and helps Dak so we need him.
I wouldn't tag Pollard or draft a RB in the 1st.Fans complained about them using the tag on Schultz last year and that worked out just fine. They can tag Pollard and draft a running back. It could be Robinson or somebody else later. They will draft best player available at 26. That could be Robinson, corner, oline, or even linebacker, or dline.
He's a phenomenal player. I consider him to be as strong or a stronger prospect than Elliott, and some people have made the comparison to Marshall Faulk.Robinson at 26 could be an outstanding investment.
Who would you tag and who would you draft? If they did tag Pollard it would be less than they used last year on the tag. Why weaken the running back spot when you could possibly make it stronger?I wouldn't tag Pollard or draft a RB in the 1st.
A good chance that at pick 26 Robinson would be easily the best player available and would warrant the price. It could work out very well. He's a phenomenal player. I consider him to be as strong or a stronger prospect than Elliott, and some people have made the comparison to Marshall Faulk.
I'm just not sure you need either Prime Zeke or Marshall Faulk in today's NFL. And you certainly don't want to allocate that kind of draft capital or cap space to the position.
If we took him, I wouldn't be too upset. I just think the position doesn't warrant the price.
I said nothing about need. But yah need is a big factor in drafting. So you're advocating to draft for need.....not a sound principle. Plus the individual RB certainly makes a difference cough, cough Zeke vrs Pollard. As I say, if he falls to 26, he's the BPA, difference maker and helps Dak so we need him.
I wouldn't draft a RB before the 3rd round. It depends on who's there and there's a bunch. I'm only tagging a player I want to extend. I'm not extending Pollard going on year 5.Who would you tag and who would you draft? If they did tag Pollard it would be less than they used last year on the tag. Why weaken the running back spot when you could possibly make it stronger?
