Fish: Major trade for backup QB hinted by Stephen Jones

Watch out, we're swinging for the fences

There are 3 really good QB prospects that will be taken in the 1st rd. Move up if you must and draft Dak's backup or potential replacement. Stop ignoring this. You can get a RB or WR in the the 3rd round.
 Are you saying move up from 12?

Am I missing something? I read the athlon article and it says nothing about a "major" trade. Jones just mentions that the team could trade for the position.

"Major" and "wild" just seem to be efforts to sensationalize the possibility of a trade.
Ploy to vulnerable cowboys fans!

Odd, since Milton isn't a former 1st round bust. Why are we interested?

jk

I would just sign old man Flacco and, if he wants to be a backup again, draft some boom bust QB in day 3.
At least the line knows both the starter and backup can't scramble.

Well, God forbid we draft and actually develop one in the 1st three rounds

24 years and counting if you want to count taking Quincy who should have been a 4th round or lower

Ah.....but we'll always have that Ben Dennucci moment

I mean they did White, Dak and McGee. Also tried to draft Paxton Lynch foolishly.

This team shows their hand.

Time to get taken advantage of for Joe Milton lol

I will say this ........I like Joe Milton's potential over any late-round QBs in this year's draft. In other words, I would no problem giving the Pats a 5th or 6th rounder.

Milton is a lottery ticket if the Cowboys get him. Well worth a third day pick because unlike the Lance trade the coaches will probably be behind this. With 3 years of team control and a young coaching staff developing Milton, we might have something. Lance was a Jones pawn to pressure Dak to sign. This board’s obsession with 3rd day draft picks is beyond me.

They want a 3rd, and could probably get a 4th if they have to settle. We arent getting Milton cheap
