I don't want to go through 47 pages of this stuff, can someone summarized what's going on? Who is saying he's signing and who is saying he's not? Thanks in advance.

  • Fisher reported that the Cowboys were now interested.
  • Other reports piggy backed off of that to say the same.
  • A High School coach in Dallas tweeted that Greg Hardy was on a flight from Charleston, SC to Dallas with him.
  • Greg Hardy tweeted a picture of himself in a suit on the way to somewhere.
  • All of this may mean nothing. It may mean he is signing with the Cowboys today.
  • Your mileage may vary.
That is all I got.

Mike Fisher (https://twitter.com/fishsports) reported this yesterday:

"BREAKING NEWS: Cowboys in Negotiations with Hardy"
Then updated his twitter by saying, "Deal is a ways off."

There's speculation indicating Dallas signs Hardy.

I would like to thank you for the summary of 48 pages that seems to make the most sense of the situation. :)

Once/If Hardy signs here, Mara will be on the phone with his buddy Goodell to make sure the NFL hammers Hardy in their punishment.

NP. I work nights have sifted through most of this thread and the internet to make sense of it. Hopefully, we will find out what's up by the end of the day.

My hope is that his trip is indeed here and not somewhere else...eek!

Nope. I've chastised that kid ever since his underwear incident, hoping Garrett would cut his *** immediately, but I was ostracized in here for being so quick to judge.

I wouldn't mind if Randle was cut but he is not a difference maker like Greg Hardy would be. Plus, he has theft and domestic violence charges. AFAIK, the Hardy incident was a one time thing. I have found nothing to say he got into trouble in college or anytime prior to this. With the flakiness of the accuser and "witness", I will cut him some slack. He screws up again, then you cut him.

I hope they sign him. He was never convicted and even if he would have been there is always room for a second chance. If the contract is team friendly even better. I hate that these ball players have to be held to a higher standard than any of our government representatives. It's the down fall of Rome all over again.

I tend to get lost and let my apathy rage when people start harping on names without any desire to stop or make sense of it. but we do need some help on D and if we can give mcclain a chance after all the buildings and boats he's blown up over the years (oops, wrong mcclain) then I see no reason why we wouldn't give hardy a year or two to see if he can fit here.

I really don't care about his "issues" to be honest cause no one would ever want their lives examined the way these guys have their lives torn into so I tend to back up and realize the things they do, good and bad, are not just the NFL and the "image" isn't reality. while I don't condone what some of the "suspended" athletes got, I do think there's a modern day witch hunt in the world where we can blame people for the wrongs of their past by todays standards and if they out to find reasons to get mad. if they can't find 'em, they put 'em there.

all that said, bring him in. I don't think money will be the issue here and if we really have a shot at the superbowl (and I lost some mad respect for murray and his superbowl rant - not because he said it, but because I don't believe HE believed it) then why wouldn't a player like hardy want to be here?

I've been saying the same thing, that's why it's taken so long for a decision to be made. If NY or NE signs him the announcement can be immediately made that Hardy will be free to play the entire season.

Things escalate quick in negotiations, the media guys will be on the tail end of it if it indeed happens fast.

We would be wise to keep looking at the Kraken's Instagram.

DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS) - Reports that the Dallas Cowboys may acquire defensive end Greg Hardy are not sitting well with those who advocate against domestic violence.

Genesis Women’s Shelter and Support along with the Dallas Police Department are hosting the 10th Annual Conference on Crimes Against Women at the Sheraton this week.

Hardy had a stellar record playing for five seasons for the Carolina Panthers. But he was convicted last year of assaulting and threatening his ex-girlfriend. Hardy appealed and the case was dismissed when his accuser could not be located to testify.

Jan Langbein, the CEO of Genesis, says the Dallas Cowboys and the NFL should have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to domestic violence.

“To reward anyone who has perpetrated violence, is wrong. To overlook violence that has allegedly happened just because charges were dropped, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen,” says Langbein. “I think we as a society have to have zero tolerance,” she adds.

Who cares what they say?

Further, just because somebody makes a claim also doesn't mean it did happen. Charges being dropped can be for multiple reasons. Also, if the girl is fine with it, paid off or not, than it's also none of anybody's business no matter if people claim otherwise. If you start saying it is your business and can dictate matters of other people, than what are the limits to when you can make decisions for individuals themselves?

BTW, the definition of RKG per Garrett's own words is essentially what every coach wants. A player that gives his all for a team and is good. Why people gulp that up as something special and unique is comical. And why people don't actually read when he maskes the comments, but give weight to all sorts of speculation is just baffling.

“We’re looking for the right kind of guy,” he said. “The right kind of guy, to us, is someone who loves to play football, who is very passionate about it, willing to work hard at it, willing to be part of a team, willing to be part of something that is maybe greater than himself.
“We want a guy who has an ego. Egos are important. But ego in the context of what we’re trying to accomplish as a team. Guys who are willing to work, are great teammates – there’s always going to be a place for those guys.”

BTW, this article clearly states that this statement was made about what is looked for in free agency. The date of this article being March 26, 2012, twelve days after they just signed Brandon Carr to a huge deal.
