I’m anxious to watch Trystan Hill. I want to see his explosion at the snap. It is one of the things that make him stick out among other 300 pound guys. That is rare for his size. I want to see his hustle as well.
Taco is another I’ll be watching. It is year 3 and high time for him to be rounding into form. He needs to be physical and use his length to win battles. I’m hoping some of that shows.
I’m also excited to see Donavan Wilson. He’s got physicality and tackling ability for days... I just hope to see some ability to play well within the scheme and to stay with receivers in coverage. I particularly want to see his awareness in a zone. If he does that well, we might have another 6th round safety find like Xavier Woods. I’m hoping for Woods/Wilson to be our safeties for the next few years.
I want to see Tony Pollard’s vision in the run game. We know he’s elusive and we know he’s fast and can catch. However, what makes a really good back in my mind is the vision. If he shows vision and toughness, we very well might have really found something there. He could be more than just a gadget guy if he has a real RB’s vision and toughness. One game isn’t enough to show all that but you’d hope to see flashes of it in his first game with Dallas.
Jon’vea Johnson is a guy that I’m really hoping to see some things from. Like Pollard, we know he’s fast and agile... what I need to see is good hands and the ability to run good routes. Without those things, it won’t matter how fast he is because he won’t make the team without them. I need to see him snatch the ball with his hands and to see the QB counting on him to be in the right place at the right time. If he gets thrown to a lot and makes those catches when he gets the chance, then it is a great sign, even playing against 3rd and 4th stringers.
Like Fuzzy said, there are a ton of other’s I’m looking forward to watching, but those are the guys off the top of my head.
