It's hardly garbage though especially when you consider their offensive line might be the best unit on the team.
I don't think anyone said it was garbage. All I said, basically, is that it's not that great.

By my back of the envelope calculations, in those five quarters, the first team defense has allowed 264 yards and 16 points.

That comes out to an average of 211.2 yards per game and 12.8 points per game.

If they can keep up that average, I wouldn't care one bit if we ended the seasons with zero turnovers on defense.

No I know you didn't but someone else did earlier in the thread.

Total non-story. In 2007 we were tied for 6th in the league in INTs.

And guess who was tied for LAST in the league that same year? Philly and Pittsburgh. Did their defenses have systemic problems or poor players? Did it mean they wouldn't get INTs the following year?

Nope.

Again, total non-story. Just the way the ball bounces.

I'm not sure we have enough data to know it's a non-story. TO differential was one of the biggest factors between this team's 07 and its 08. We've dropped 2-3 picks in the preseason already. One I recall careening off of Bobby Carpenter v. TEN, and Courtney Brown (I know) was in position to basically end the SF game as a win, and he blew it.

I know this is something the team's been really working on, and I know 08 might well end up being an anomaly, but I'll be much happier to see some evidence of that when Wade really dials up the pressure.
