not to mention the false start penalties. Made an average Cardinal D Line look like the 70s Steelers. Anybody have a breakdown by O line man of the how many sacks each gave up today?

Paris Lenon came clean through the right "A" gap. I believe Calais Campbell beat Free for 2 sacks, and I believe Smith allowed 1. I can't recall the 5th off the top of my head.

Romo still got it done though

It's our D that is the problem

the Cards don't have a average Dline, they have a very good Dline. Campbell and Dockery showed that today and they have been doing the same thing all year. Campbell showed why I want him this off-season. Put him with Ratliff adn Hatcher watch out.

Also the OL looked awful today, if anyone doesn't think we don't need to get a new interior OL then they are just crazy. Koiser, Costa, and Holland were awful and couldn't get any push in the run game.

the D only gave up one TD and that was late, the offense should have scored 30 on that team. The OL sucks, no push in the run game

yeah late when it mattered.

The O-line just needs some work but i still like our O-line

gee, I wonder why the O.C trusted the rookie kicker more then the offense...

Overall, counting sacks, penalties, and negative runs, we had 12 negative plays. That doesn't count Scandrick's two penalties on punt returns.

I read some of Garrett's postgame comments, and he alluded that that was one reason why he didn't call a TO after the Dez catch. Not sure I buy that or not, but it bears mentioning that we had two presnap penalties on that drive. Sometimes I think Garrett just gets a little too puckered up at times, and coaches more from a standpoint of the fear of what could go wrong, as opposed to what could go right.

hahahaaaaa, what, wow this might be the most crazy thing I ever heard. Did you see the game. Yeah the defense gave up the TD late but where was the offense late, no where.
How can you like this OL, how? Costa sucks, no push what so ever in the run game. Koiser showed he is weak and old. Can no withstand powerful DTs and Holland is slow. We need need a new Center and two OGs way more than we need anything else right now. If Murrey could run the ball today Dallas wins, its that easy.
I would sign Campbell this offseason and draft a CB early, thats all we need as for starters on defense.

If this team shows up Sunday vs the Giants the way they played GB today, we will walk out in 2nd place in the east. Today was a great shot to almost clinch a playoff spot and we blew it.

There were a couple of those that were coverage sacks. Not to say that the o-line didn't play terribly, because they did. But I remember at least one sack where Romo took forever deciding to throw or run and eventually got sacked.

They gave up 2 TDs.

you didnt see the origianl post, we were talking about before overtime.

Also we did win this game but Garrett didn't want the win I guess since he called the timeout to ice his own kicker. Also how hard could it be if Bailey made it look easy the first kick and missed it bad the second time.

You should be able to beat teams with this offense if your defense allows 19 or 20 points. That's not Romo's fault. I'm just saying in general. If you can't put up more than 13 points than you simply have bigger problems than your defense.

13 points scored is not getting it done. 13 points given up IS getting it done.

our problems are offensive.

That Cowboys defense was pathetic... I hope Rob Ryan gets a head coaching job and Dave Campo should have been left in AZ. Newman, Ball and Walker need to be gone.

our problem is easy, #1 Oline is so weak in the middle, can't get any push vs power DLs. #2 is play calling within 30 yards, we can move the ball with ease at times but when we get around the 30 we no longer can execute. #3 is penalties, last year after Garrett took over I thought all these false starts and stupid penalties was gone, well I was wrong about that.

I think you are underestimating that defense and that team.

Their secondary looked good. Patrick Peterson looked great today at CB playing Dez 1-1 and blanketing him for the most part. That deflection on the bomb was a thing of beauty. I bet he has trouble against good route runners but he was very good against a straightline player like Dez who can't run many routes.

Horton has them playing that Steelers style of defense and they appear to be picking it up good now. They were regularly getting blitzers free and hurrying Romo up, knocking him to the ground and collecting sacks. When Romo hit guys they were usually not wide open. I think we really missed Miles today and his big-play ability.

They have now won 4 of 5 with their one loss being to the 49ers.

They got Kolb back today and he is an upgrade over Skelton, Wells is runnign well and they still have Fitz. Andre Roberts is starting to come on as their # receiver and Doucet is a solid #2.

They look like they are on an upswing.

...I believe Costa made the wrong read and stepped to his left to double team a lineman and left Lenon a runway to land a 747 in.

Guys it's still a team that is work in progress. An active defensive front such as Arizona's is going to cause our line problems.

Put away both the axes and torches along with the anointing oil.

How can Garrett fix all the false starts?

That is up to the players nerves. Some guys are prone to false starts (Witten, Free) and some guys aren't (Kosier). You can replace the guys who do it but that's about all you can do for those kinds of penalties.

We do seem to be getting called for less holding lately so that is a plus.

However, we seem to be getting called for a lot of penalties in the secondary so that is bad.

When I think of what Garrett will bring to the team it is better execution more than less penalties. I think that has generally been the case for this team compared to when he took over.

I think we mostly lose because we have been outmanned in the trenches on the offensive side and outmanned in the secondary on the defensive side. Those are more personnel than coaching issues.
