That's like saying how you drive and mpg are two different topics.

The article never even mentioned anything about stats...did you even read it?

You brought it up on your own. I never mentioned stats in the OP...so please provide the correlation because I never mentioned it, nor did the article.

I read the article, but I don't know what correlation you want me to provide.

I'm a Romo fan too, his jersey is the one I wear the most on Sundays, but I'm not going sit here and pretend like he doesn't have any warts. Every player has them.

This article makes some very good points. It's critical of Romo and provides very good proof and has confirmed my own observations.

Oh, I agree. There's never been a single player who didn't have many areas that could be improved.
That wasn't my point and it was just an observation of the irony of it all. A full dissection, yet again, of Romo.
No problems

Romo also had the fewest amount of sacks taken those years too, including 2008. The general consensus has been that Garrett's system has been too many long developing plays/routes and now the argument is that it's too short of routes?

LOL...Goal posts shift much?

You take this article in two ways but the intent is not to point fingers at what's wrong with the Cowboys.

Stats are everything to you percy, but as Bill Belichick would say...

Not really. There are plenty of reasons why JG's offense suck. Having receivers run 1 yard routes when we need 10+ yards and then having them run 30 yard routes when we need 5 yards is one of the reasons.

The guy has no clue when it comes to situational football.

This article points out some great things about Romo's shortcomings. I've mentioned this a time or two and it's something that has plagued Romo's career and contributed to "untimely" interceptions.

I'm sure that footwork will be one if the five topics but this first part points out something that can be confirmed in the film.

I hope he can maintain that discipline and correct these issues.

I think he sort of hinted at it in the recent 30 minute "nerd" interview. Something about seing things before it happened. Well he needs to stop it  Its a pro and a con. He and the receiver have to see the same thing. Its of no benefit if he's the only one seeing it.

It's a double edged sword, it's what makes him an outstanding QB, but it's also what holds him back from being on the same level as Manning, Brady, Ect; And with that said, the positives from his play making ability greatly outweigh the negatives.

A gift and a curse.

Perfect guy to use...
.because as Belichick DID say; any Cowboy fan who thinks Tony Romo is the problem is a fan not worth discussing the topic of football with.

Did he really say this? If so could I get a link. This would be perfect ammunition for a friend of mine who is nothing but critical of Romo but praises Belicheck and the Pats as this "God Franchise", though I think most of it has to do with the fact that his fiance's father is a die hard pats fan.

It's been a couple of years now. I'll look for a link.
The dialog went along the lines of Cowboy fans...he said Romo was the perfect filter. All he had to ask them what they thought of Romo as their QB. If they said he was their problem or that he sux, etc...then he knew that particular person was not worth discussing football with.
Funny stuff.
I know he and Jimmy Johnson have been fishing buddies in the past, but I have no idea if the origins of this conversation came from that.

Nevertheless, he has always been very complimentary regarding Romo...and sometime unprovoked. Which is unusual for him.

If you can find that, that would be AWESOME. I tried searching. When I get home I'm going to go through some interviews of Belichek in 2011 on youtube. Be a huge slap in the face to my friend who worships this guy but is critical of Romo.

I'm not sure how to cut/paste on an IPad. The Oct 2011 Dallas morning news interview with Belichick is very highly complimentary but is not the "fan filter" one.

I was thinking about it last night. Especially the "running QB thing". You never, every hear that argument in the Brady, Manning, Rogers debate. Nobody talks about "their ability to run". That is not an asset of the so called elite QB.

I have mentioned many times now about his ball placement. He has days he is very accurate - not Aikman-like - and days he is clearly off his mark. I classify him as a vicinity passer since he has routes where he is surgical and others where he is close to not so close. The sideline out between 12-18 yards is not his strong suit. This is the bread and butter of Eli's passing repertoire.

Romo is great down the hash marks, but he routinely is close to awful on slants and crossing routes. Which makes you think since T.O.'s best route was the crossing route and Dallas just didn't throw it much.

I agree with someone above who suggests correcting this may be very difficult.

It cracks me up that people think the game plan goes out the window in the second quarter of every Cowboys game. Honestly. And then you hear the player interviews or other coaches who have nothing but good things to say about the coach (cue: 'what are they supposed to say?').

If a coach were really getting blown out of the water every week, he'd have lost his offensive team years ago.

Romo has been the real OC throughout Garretts reign in that he takes the simple play call and modifies it the best way possible to exploit the D (chaos before every snap). Not the other way around. Percy's stats show Romo improves as the game goes on. The scripted plays (JG) has worked on all week (1st drive/1stQ) result in TR having a QBR below 80? Despite Garrett...

even in the interview i watched that is on here, his friend is quoted as saying "he's slow, he cant jump, he cant run..." and tony laughs....because its true. He isnt anything great physically.

But he's got great brains which is why he's been able to play bball, football, golf...he can pick up any game due to his brains.

Romo is very quick, which is perhaps the greatest athletic asset in all of sports.

It seems to me, and I may be wrong, that Romo seems to put a lot of air under the ball lately. His balls don't have a lot of zip to them. He may have always thrown this way but I didn't notice it years ago. It could have been his back last year.......
