Five picks in first three rounds. Seven picks in the first four rounds. That is a strong foundation for building a powerhouse. But it was not, 1975, nor 1989, nor 1991, nor 2005.

It was 2021.

NFL paradise lost, I say. Blown assessments. Blown opportunities. Those responsible need to be held accountable. Horrific result with enormous draft capital. Will McClay's response to this extremely low volume of player success?
1Micah Parsons12LBPenn St.
2Kelvin Joseph super bust in a cursed round44DBKentucky
3Osa Odighizuwa well worth it75DLUCLA

7Matt Farniok can't ask much of a 7th rounder238G00

Only two starters out of this bunch. Shameful.
2005 draft:

D Ware 3-4 LB,
Three DL starters: Chris Canty, Marcus Spears, Jay Ratliff
Marion Barber.

Man I hated the Bossman Fat pick from the very beginning. What a waste of a pick.

It’s the result that happens when a FO forces a pick for positional need.

They missed out on Surtain in the first so they were DEAD SET on taking CB in the second. No matter what.

This same issue has happened with Mazi and Guyton and Schoonmaker.

All forced picks at positions of need.

Whenever they take BPA available it works out well.

Micah, Lamb, Tyler smith, Tyler Booker, Diggs, etc

Two starters is a normal draft. Go pick some drafts out of a hat - like say the 2017 Colts or the 2022 Saints - and see what a normal hit rate is.

The only obviously bad pick we had was Bossman - a reach at a position of need for a guy who had been kicked off two football teams in 18 months. Other than that? Parsons is all world, and our 3rd rounders have all proven that they can play in the league. Day 3 picks are typically a washout.

I TOTALLY AGREE.

I think most of us are excited about the changes that have been made, and the possible changes to come. Why go backwards
Go Cowboys :flagwave:

We still have the same GM. We can't move on until he's gone. This isn't going backwards or forward, just spinning our wheels for the 31st year in a row.
