i want to start this off with What i think would help us in FA to fix this team... most of these players are mid to lower level players per the NFL free agent top 100 list

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...graham-heads-top-101-nfl-free-agents-for-2014

here we go... i think this will allow us to take best available in the draft:

Defense:

3T
Clinton McDonald, DT Seattle Perfect 3 tech DT.. was in Rotation flashes a lot of potential could start for us.. 27 sign to a 4 year deal

1T
Pat Sims, DT Oakland.. Perfect 1 tech. holds ground against Double teams and can push the pocket. 28 sign to a 2 year deal. Draft replacement Mid Later rounds

DE
Willie Young, DE, Detroit.. WDE could backup Ware keeping him fresh and providing insurance / starting capability if he or someone else cannot go. 28 3 year deal...

MLB
Vincent Rey, LB Cincinnati Good backup and could push Lee to SOLB... This dude can cover ground 4.58 at combine a few years ago. 26 years old 4/5 year deal.

FS
Malcolm Jenkins FS, New Orleans... Once one of the best young safeties and then injuries happened. still 26 and has starting exp, not to mention Super Bowl ring. 4/5 year deal.

Good list. You hit the key issue, age. I would make 28 the max age for any free agents signed to significant contracts. Your lists appears to adhere to that age range.

I'm a fan of McDonald. I studied his play in a few of their games including the Super Bowl. He was not technically the starter, which should help keep his price down. Later in the year and in the playoffs, he appeared to get as many if not more snaps than the starter.

Does NO have a replacement for Jenkins or would the Cowboys have to out bid them?

Good list. Although, I would like to see Arthur Jones with a star as our 3T.

I liked Arthur Jones as well but i saw him more as a 1 and i figured he would be more expensive, so i went with the 2 above hoping they will not break the bank

Rey looked really good when he filled in for Cincy this year. Nice list.

Nicely done. I really like McDonald as an option.

I agree with xw that a young age is key, IMO.

Another guy who I think fits what Marinelli wants to a Tee is Wesley Woodyard. I'm not sure what he'll cost, but he shouldn't be that expensive and at 27 years old would be competitive for the length of his contract. His size is perfect for a WOLB in this system and the guy can flat out play. He was a little miscast as a MLB this year in Denver, but at WOLB he could fly to the ball. He isn't just an athlete either... he's got really good football intelligence.

Just McDonald and Woodyard would make a terrific FA period and would open up the draft for just about literally anything we wanted.

McDonald wouldn't be so costly that we couldn't draft Donald as a 3T either. A rotation of both of them would be great.

Rafael Bush and Terrence Frederick, but not sure either is ready to step in beside Vacarro

Solid..... And helps our draft even more. Don't know the finances involved though.... Guess? How much we talking a year as a group?
