Fix the problem

The only adjustment needed is Linehan, he calls plays based on what he see's defenses doing on tape. They know this. Having legit threats outside and Bease inside will solve the problem. All we need is creativity and a willingness to drift away from his base. We'll be fine.

What blows me away is how a guy like Norv can go into Car. and sit with Cam and say "what do you like to do and what are you uncomfortable doing? Then he proceeds to build a offense around the players strengths. Look at the results.

So Scott, lets begin with what Dak does best, even if it doesn't fit you obsolete system.

The Coordinator has seen it all...and Garrett was part of the offense under Turner.
I've never been impressed w/ Linehan. And from what I've seen, he appears to be resistant to change.

Once a football mind gets to this level, a certain ego takes over, and most of them are patently certain of their beliefs. I've seen way too many good football minds insist on their way at this level, even if their way is failing. I see Linehan as one such. I highly doubt he would be willing to institute any scheme but his own.

JG has consistently shown an inability to grasp the understanding of the regular down to down running of an O. At times, he would make the most brilliant playcalls, but then would miss the obvious ones. Sometimes I felt like he was under the impression that he failed if every playcall wasn't something special. I don't think JG or Linehan understands the importance of usage of the running game, for instance. I also have seen a ton of data suggesting that JG insists a player fits in to what he wants, as opposed to fitting the system around the player.

So, unfortunately, I don't believe this staff is capable/willing to institute what you are proposing. And I do see your logic.

This is why I think Garrett's mindset is to impose our will upon the defense, even though they know what we're doing.
It worked for the triplets, so he thinks that's the only way to do it.

I don't like where the current offensive line coach has taken the play of the Dallas offensive line. All but Martin are worse!

That is part of the equation...they're playing as the line of the strike lockout right now.

They're really not as bad as they look. Between Dak's lack of spacial awareness, and his tendency to hold the ball too long, (whether because of indecision or a lack of open receivers) the O-line has to hold up longer than they should, oftentimes.
That's not to say they haven't regressed, just not as badly as it seems. It also seems likely that they've regressed, in part, due to fatigue.

I'm not an inspirationalist...tape a salt tablet on their arms. No morning speeches for the uglies...give 'em a cup of coffee and issue them some hate.

As to change in the offensive line...no, not another Jerry slamism:

...When the Dallas Cowboys lost former offensive line coach Frank Pollack this offseason to the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cowboys brought in Paul Alexander to replace him. After spending the past 23 seasons with the Bengals as their O-Line coach, the legendary Alexander was never quite able to get the most out of his lineman in Cincinnati. Now, with the Cowboys, he looks to be having similar results.

The play of the offensive line has suffered without center Travis Frederick but that doesn’t account for the poor technique shown from tackles Tyron Smith and La’el Collins. Neither player has looked the same this season. Both appear to be giving up more pressures then they have in the past.

<\/script>"}" data-ad-type="connatix_inline_nfl__desktop__tablet" data-ad-vendor="connatix">
According to Pro Football Focus, Collins has allowed a team-leading 20 pressures, 16 hurries, and seven penalties (two declined) so far this season. While Smith has racked up 12 pressures, 10 hurries, and four penalties through seven games.

Alexander hasn’t seemed to be able to fix whatever has been wrong with Smith or Collins’ techniques. And if he is unable fix the problems over the bye, it may be time to find someone new. Dallas does have Marc Colombo as their assistant offensive line coach...

Oh, I see where you went with that...lied with a straight face.

I didn't lie about anything.

You're the second most obnoxious poster on this site, next to the guy with the Wentz obsession. Both of you think way too highly of yourselves, misrepresent what other people say, and toss out childish insults to anyone who disagrees with you. So do both of us a favor and save your useless responses for someone who is actually interested in them. Oh, and have a nice day.

Wow, so impressive in a rant also...touch on topic, and then kick the lips into gear. No apologies to you, Son...don't like interchange with myself, keep out of them!

Better yet, try topic...and NOT a Jerry insult you attempt to pass off as another's problem for noticing!!

For the record, I choose my own integrity. Get a thicker skin or quit living in a glass house.

Let's take a quick look at where Dak is headed and would adjust since the addition of Cooper...

...The 2018 season didn’t start off too hot for Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. After losing Dez and Whitten in the offseason, and not playing a lot with his new receiving core in the preseason, he got off to way more than just a slow start. But Dak and the Cowboys passing offense has starting clicking again new wide receiver Amari Cooper is coming in hot.

Prescott only averaged 171 passing yards through the first three games but has turned it on here lately with 229 yards over the last four. He was dinking and dunking early in the season but the downfield throws are starting to show up. Dak only had 1 completion over 25 yards through those first three games, but now has 9 completions over 25 yards in the last four games.

Against the Commanders last week the ball was on point. It didn’t matter if Dak was in the pocket or on the run he was precise. Prescott finished the game completing 22 of 35 for 273 yards and a 1 TD while adding 33 rushing yards and another TD. On a day the defense shut down Zeke and the running game, Dak did enough to put the team in a winning situation. Or do you think Ladouceur moved the ball?

Prescott has been more accurate lately hands down. The threat of the run is real and it’s starting to open things up in the passing the game. Dak’s on pace to rush for over 500 yards this season and that should be a big part of his game freezing up defenses on the run option...

The Cowboys will come back this week and know there is work to do. The good news is there is plenty of time to catch up. Dallas plays the Commanders at home in a few weeks and still has two games against the Eagles to state their case in the division. It’s just their margin for error shrinks each time a rival wins.

There are nine games left on the schedule for the Cowboys. Right now it looks like it would take a minimum of nine wins to win the NFC East, which is the only reasonable way the team makes the playoffs. However, a better guess would be that the Cowboys need to get to 10-6 on the season to give themselves a chance. That means going 7-2 in the second half of the year; tough, but doable.

For the record now, NOTHING was said or mentioned about any topic concerning either Jerry Jones or Jason Garrett.

These idiots won't adjust a thing...
Attitude is not in discussion here...move on.

That observation requires a series of events, and is unproven by a remark on sentiment. The rant zone is another place...respect this zone.

The OP was on what would both be change and effective...
