I'm not sure what the issue is, we keep pouring resources into fixing the pass rush, yet it seems like we haven't made any progress since the days we were pulling guys like George Selvie off the streets...

I think one of our biggest mistakes was investing so much money in Tyrone Crawford. Yes, I know he was injured, but when is he not injured, and when has he shown himself to be such a catalytic player? We all hoped/are hoping he will, but we just haven't seen it yet.

You combine that with Hayden, and it is like the coaches are just asking for mediocrity from the interior line.

All good problems you listed. Dallas needs to invest in dt's and de's via FA this offseason or its over before it starts.

Considering the back end of our defense is like swiss cheese I'm not sure a pass rush similar to what Denver has would make any difference.

Except he wasn't paid a great deal. Compare his contract to elite DTs in the league on their second contracts. Then think about the top DTs on rookie contracts getting new deals, Crawford's will be small in comparison. He's getting paid good DT money, because he's a good DT. It would be nice to have an elite DT of course, but you can win Super Bowls with good players. I'd much rather have a team full of good players than a single elite player surrounded by trash.

they chose crawford over murray lol and went from 12-4 to 4-12.
Crawford will never be more than avg, so they overpaid for him

Like Ware said. You need a balance on defense to be successful. Fixing the pass rush will come down to the secondary, interior line and most importantly depth. Keep our guys fresh in and out of the line up. Can't be running in fumes in the 3rd qtr like we've been the last 2 seasons. Jimmy Johnson did say players can't be tired right? Well what the flying hell are we doing then? Jerry get it together man.

Like the secondary, the DL needs to start with positional coaching changes.

I believe the DL and the secondary are going to be two of our most concentrated and prospective targets during the offseason.

Vet free agency and the draft are likely to prioritize those positions. It should surely help that they both bear exceptional talent.

Combine the young talent that is already in house with what will be added through those two resources and we'll be just fine.

It hasn't even started yet and he was injured most of the year.

Hopefully that's true but at the same time it's bad if it is. So they just paid him and had him play all year with a bad shoulder. Making his shoulder even worse when they had no chance at making anything out of the season. I still think it was an early signing. I didn't notice much out of him.

LOL. Murray really tore it up last year with his new big money deal too.

The defense needs an upgrade at every single position except LDE (Lawrence), WLB (Lee) and FS (assuming Jones settles there). That's how bad it is folks

Dallas needs to definitely adress the DT positions.

If Rolando pulls his head out and plays every game they could be formidable with the DE's they have, IMO.

They would have dlaw and Gregory starting with no depth behind them. That'll be worst than the last 2 years were.

A healthy Crawford is a catalytic player. The problem with Crawford is his tackling may be the worst I've ever seen for a player that is that good at getting penetration and having open shots at the QB.

I think last year injuries hurt the pass rush. Gregory never developed, Crawford was hurt, Hardy got hurt in the Seattle game and was never the same.

I also didn't care much for Marinelli moving Hardy to DT on passing downs. It just didn't work that well and it was trying to put a square peg into a round hole.

Lawrence came along nicely in the second half of the season.

The other issue is the coverages. We played mostly Cover 1 or man or Cover 2 man. Very easy for the QB to know where to go with the ball.
