Anyone else heard of these guys? They're a New Zealand two man folk band in the make of Tenacious D, only a bit less vulgar. My wife and I first saw them on an HBO One Night Stand Special - really funny show. Then we started seeing one of them (Jermaine) in Outback Steakhouse commercials. Now they have a new 30 min show coming out on HBO. You can watch a whole episode here:

That Jemaine Clement guy was the one on that series of Outback Steakhouse commercials from a year or so ago.

I like the one about eating chicken. "Some people say they're a "steak man". I actually prefer chicken myself, but I can't say I'm a "chicken man". I'm more of a "steak man" with a chicken hobby."

LOL, yea, that one and the one, "Everytime I order my steak at Outback Steak House, I get them to put candles on it. So the girl asks me, oh, is it your birthday? I says, no, I just like candles." :laugh1:

The commercials were funny but I don't find the show funny at all.

Have not watched the show.

None of the previews looked good at all.

I may try them after the season is done but I doubt I will change my mind. Then again I watched the first few episodes of Seinfeld when it first came on and did not like it...did not even watch another one until some time in the 3rd or 4th season and found I loved it.

I also will check out Meadowlands. I keep meaning to check it out but keep forgetting so I may wait till the season is over and check it out on Demand.

HBO has pretty much killed the Sunday night lineup. John from Cincy and Conchords are watchable. Entourage is the only good show left.

I keep waiting for it to get better but it is just quirky enough to keep me watching...that and nothing else is on.:laugh1:

You can tell it is the same guy who wrote Deadwood. Not just because of a character but he will have a person go on some oddball rant out of nowhere like he did some on deadwood.

There were a few times where I as LMAO on the show though.
