First three games I thought Flo was as good as he has ever been. Yes, he had his usual stupid penalties but he shut down Gaines Adams, Osi and Peppers with little to no help. All three of those teams run a 4-3. Move on to Denver and KC and he struggles mightily against the 3-4 OLB. You would think practicing against the 3-4 would give him an edge but his lack of footwork is killing us against the 3-4. I know we have several more games upcoming against 3-4 teams. I know Wade would never do this but what about starting Free against 3-4 teams to take advantage of his athleticism against OLB's?

You know what? I think you make a great point. I think he struggles against smaller 3-4 OLBs. But you just can't do something like that for the sake of continuity.

The guy appears to no longer have the feet or desire for the position.

How do you know anything about his desire?

He looks like he is going half speed, compared to everybody else, maybe he just got old fast.

This is what i have taken from Flo the last few games when I watch him

Flo's foot work has deteriorated much Like Larry Allen's his last few years.

Flo does well on straight ahead blocking and big physical DE and anyone he gets his big hands on he can maw.

Flo is getting owned by the quick guys when they start outside and come back inside on him.

The main things I see from him

he does not always come out of his stance quickly on a consistent basis; it tends to show up in the later parts of the game more than the early phases. I think Flo is out of shape and starts getting tired so he does not get back in a stance quick enough later in the game because he is tired so he over commits on the outside move or is late getting there then when the defender changes direction and goes back inside he can not slide over because he is off balance; feet are out of place and he gets beat.

This leads to sacks; holds and the tripping calls and it contributes to his false starts because he is struggling with his stance and footwork.

One guess is Flo is fat and out of shape which would not be the 1st time for the guy he really performs better under a taskmasters like Bill then a soft guy like Wade.

He could have just deteriorated to this point as a player faster than people expected

or 3rd option a combo of 1 & 2

My guess it is more about being fat and out of shape

Flo has got to go. He constantly makes mistakes which are costing us yards and I don't see him gettin better from here on out. He will only make more mistakes. JMO.:D

Yes, Flo has 3 or 4 gaffs a game...but if you watch every play, more often than not he absolutely stonewalls his guy. For all of you that want Flo gone...be careful what you wish for.

You mean like him getting Romo Killed making are QB rush throws and cause in completions; lets not ignore the fact if not for barber sure will we would have had a safety on a running play due to Flo getting owned all this not even counting his penalty gaffs which are worse this year than they where the last two years he is already out pacing himself from years prior

I think that's the case, you don't stick around and be as good as he has been for so long with no desire.

He hasn't moved his feet well the past couple games and maybe the smaller guys are getting into his head a bit. Hopefully he can rest up and at the same time work on his conditioning a bit over the next couple weeks. He definitely did not look right Sunday.

To be fair, that was a pretty ******** play call by Garrett. Calling a draw at your own 3 yard line is plain stupid.
