Joe Haden-DB- Player Mar. 17 - 12:14 pm et

Florida CB Joe Haden reportedly timed in the mid-4.4 range on both of his forty-yard dash runs at the Gators' Pro Day.

According to some stopwatches, Haden clocked as fast as the 4.3s despite a soggy, sloppy grass field in Gainesville. The draft's top cornerback, Haden has helped his stock immensely after timing in the 4.57-4.60 range with poor running technique and a lower back sprain at the Scouting Combine. We no longer see him getting past San Francisco at No. 13 overall.

Brandon Spikes-LB- Player Mar. 17 - 12:06 pm et

Florida ILB Brandon Spikes was unable to break 5.0 seconds in the forty-yard dash at the Gators' Wednesday Pro Day.

His unofficial times were 5.02 and 5.08. Spikes is a big hitter with playmaking cover skills, but his forty will haunt him on draft weekend. Once thought to be a late first-round prospect, he may now struggle to go in the second.

Not really surprised about Spikes. I'm still not sure how I feel about him. On one hand, he looks really slow, stiff and unathletic...But on the other, he produced. In the second, I might take him. In the third, for sure.

i think he will fall now down to the 3rd round, not sure if he will be there when we pick, but the 3rd round for him now.

Yeah the guy just killed his draft stock. That is absolutely pathetic. But I would still take a flier in the 3rd because the guy is quick enough to play ILB.

i think i'd also have to consider his broad jump, 10 yard split, 3 cone, and vertical.

if his 10 yard split is good, for example, (though I have no idea if it is good) that would give me more encouragement - and I'd definitely seriously consider him in the 2nd if that is the case.

Shades of Kai Parham who was apparently too slow for the pro game.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Spikes.

Exactly who I was thinking of....I think Parham actually ran a little faster too...4.9 IIRC
