Yesterday's trade really just encapsulated how fickle and rudderless our front office is.

We over value mid-round picks, hoarding them like they're gold bullion (couldn't give up a 4th for Josh Gordan...2nd rounder for Earl Thomas?), but then turn around surrender a 1st rounder like it's a throw in.

Your own collective hubris thought it would be a great idea to go WR by committee with a group of receivers comprised of an undersized slot, career KR, middling talent, and a raw 3rd rounder? Not to mention you're pairing these guys with an erratic QB that is not a talented passer?

Predictably, the experiment fails, you hit the panic button and blow your wad on a receiver that hasn't produced in two years?

I've never piled on Jerry and always thought of him as a kinda blundering owner that sincerely wanted to win. He may still be that, but this was an impulsive move they forced on themselfs.

Cooper is a known quantity. There is no mystery as to whether he can play at a high level. His first two seasons in the NFL proved that he can. And Cooper can be special.

His rookie season, Cooper racked up 72 receptions for 1,070 yards and six touchdowns. The following year, 83 catches for 1,153 yards and five scores. Cooper is only the ninth player in the history of the league to record back-to-back 1,000 receiving yard seasons in his first two years in the NFL.

And his last season and a half he's been average.

Are you sure you are getting the first 2 years Cooper or the last 20 months Cooper?

I like the idea of Cooper here. I don't like the idea of depantsing yourself and giving up your first rounder for him though.

In a season not worth investing in.

Yea, it's not looking good at 3-4. However, I think the FO thinks the NFCE is up for grabs and it probably will be for a while.

I hope this trade either puts the final nail in the coffin for Garrett and Linehan or surprises us and we got a stud #1.

Can't be no more excuses from the coaches why we are struggling to move the ball, in Jerrys eyes.
IMO

Actually I thought all the rumors were that Earl Thomas couldn't be had unless it was a 1st. Dallas offered a 2nd.
I'm going to wait and see and give my opinion about this trade at the end of the season. I personally think this trade is so they can fairly evaluate Dak over this next year and a half and less about "finding the missing piece, etc".
If he still can't get this offense up to snuff, Dak will be gone at the end of his rookie deal.... believe that.

Would it have made you feel better if the eagles got him for a 2nd rounder?

I like how this FO has built this team.

I really like this team. Offense, defense, and contracts

Witten and dez gone is good in my book, they just need to figure out the new era on offense

And are you pairing him with the first year and a half Dak? Or the past year's Dak?

Jerry has decided to link the 2 together. We'll see what happens.

Say what you will to defend the move (and I think a case can be made, albeit not the strongest case) this does look like a sudden change of course. Just a few days ago Jerry was saying how hard it is to integrate a WR at this late stage in the season.

On the bright side, I agree a change of course was needed. We’ll see if this is the right one.

Stephen Jones: MUST HAVE AMARI COOPER!!!!!

5 months to the day.

This reminds me of them shifting from "anyone can run behind this line" in 2015 to spending the 4th overall pick on a running back in 2016. This Front Office has no plan. They are prisoners of the moment and most of the time they are prisoners of their own design.

And with our legendary coaching staff, the sky's the limit for him.

Wow, you should be made captain of the investigative quote truth police. How dare them not accurately predict the future and tell you through the media

Oh, for sure, they cornered the ramen food market and invested in soy sauce.

Sorry, I'm not labeling this group of offensive players and defensive players as tooling around. I can with confidence, state that Cooper, unhinged from media slander, will be a strong influence for the offense. He will expand ability of the offense, and not as what is missing with an injured Austin.

I wonder what McClay would say about that
