This is pretty amazing:

The 49ers ran all but 10 plays from shotgun last season. Compare that to 20 years ago, when 13 teams never ran a single play from shotgun.

Last year, only 3 teams put their QB under center half the time. The Cowboys were close, at 51% shotgun, good for 28th in the league in shotgun frequency.

Cool tables in the article.

We ran shotgun because that's what Dak was more comfortable with. I expect a much lower number next year

49'ers were playing college football and their record reflected that.

My father had a double barrel 10 gauge!! Knock you on your backside!!
Way cool! I bought my dad a 10ga. One father's day ,,, it knocked him on his backside,,,to be fair ,he was a pretty big indian and the slope we were standing on was pretty muddy,,, and I did pretty much throw his target at 12 o' clock high , but it was funny.

Haha. I have had every type of fire arm at one time or another...but that 10 gauge had the biggest kick. We used it basically for hunting Geese. Had to fit a bigger hollow piece of rubber on the butt to ease the kick back.

I'm really gonna miss not seeing ROMO in the shotgun and hike that left leg to signal the snap with .05 seconds left on the clock after he's ran up to the LOS twice to check out of a play or just to taunt the defensive formation ( really never was sure which,,,:lmao2::huh::lmao:)

Did it have hammers/ duel triggers?(worth a mint nowadays)
This one I bought him was just a single shot and it had about a 4lb. Steel weight in the butt stock,,,, I kinda regret selling my 50 BMG single shot I had ,,, man alive, Boxer ! With the API RDS. that would launch a BBQ l.p. tank 30' in the air with two jets of fire 20' on both sides,,,, hilarious.

Haha! Yes double hammers and triggers...not a fancy model and it was old...l don't remember to a certainty...but recall it may have been an old E. James shotgun.

We ran shotgun LESS often than 27 other teams. Relative to the rest of the league, that's less use of shotgun than we had in 2014. I don't expect that number to go down much if at all.

Don't care about other teams as they have no bearing on what we do. Our coaches stated that they only used shotgun to the extent they did to help transition Dak, as he became more comfortable we used it less throughout the season. So like I said, I expect a much lower total snaps from the gun next year.
