What conclusion did the front office draw from the Skins that they thought it was a good idea to give up a #1 pick mid-season? Do they think we are contending this year? Or did they conclude they had to do something to keep up fan interest in a season that is already over? :(

I think it's a wake up call for Garrett and maybe Dak as well. Youre getting a motivated#1 WR that is looking to prove something. If the offense still flutters , then either Garrett or Dak or both will be unemployed possibly.

Jerry actually believes the season can be saved and Amari Cooper is the guy who can do it.

He'll be just flabbergasted over the winter that it all went to crap. Sitting there with a top 10 pick they traded off to Oakland, a roster full of holes and no resources to do anything about it.

Or he'll continue to be dillusional and think this team is on the cusp of a championship

Not sure yesterday's events made a huge impact on that decision. Based on the reports Sunday morning, they clearly were already in discussions with Oakland. I think the bye week had more to do with the timing of the trade than yesterday's loss.

Yep. Terrible trade. If it was a 3rd, I could live with it. The Eagles offered a 2nd and I guess they did not want to be out-bid.

I think garrett as a last gasp pushed for WR and cooper was available....and jones' trust garrett too much. we have a chance to stil end up 7-9 or 6-10 and this is a top 15 pick..... this has roy Williams written all over it... or the signing of Galloway...neither worked and we make the same mistake again....first time around, ok, we made a mistake, second time around you are stupid...3rd time around, you are freaking dumb arse idiot.

The pick for us would have likely been even better without the trade for Cooper. He's supposed to make us better.

Galloway was actually a good player and RW had a pedigree. Amari Cooper is worth a first? Maybe if he is the player that could put you over the top this year, but not sure how anyone can think that about this team this year. This trade only makes sense if you watched that Skins game and thought--we lost this because the receivers sucked. But is Cooper really going to add anything that an improving Gallup wouldn't? Strange logic in this trade.

Garrett has been there 9 yrs., Dak hasn't completed his third year yet. Give him a better coach then evaluate. I think he's put in a bad situation with Garrett.

Long as Garrett's the coach, same results. He's had enough time to get the job done and is still trying to figure it out.

Jerry knows Garrett is trash and has been since day one. He wasted Romo's career after Parcells developed him.

Probably realized the Skins suck and so do the Eagirls.......so maybe they feel we are a Cooper away from winning this division.......

Win the division at 8-8 and then what? Seems like a #1 pick would be worth more than one and done in the playoffs if we even get there.

Honestly I don't know what they are thinking. I'm not the most optimistic guy sitting here after losing to the sorry Commanders and Alex Smith.

If Dak is getting another year to showcase himself it does make more sense to get Cooper now and try and gain some chemistry and by next season be ready if they aren't by the end of this year.

I don't get why they dealt the #1 pick. I'm not a fan of that. I wanted Cooper here but for less then that. I'm not sure what's the mind of this organization. But I will say that when you go into a season your job is just to get into the playoffs. I don't think you care how you do it. And if this move gets us to the playoffs I'm for it but I'm not with the compensation.

Ole' 8-8 NEEDS a wakeup call! He's way too comfortable with that 8-8 namesake.

It would seem that Jerry was thinking about this at least publicly since the Houston game.
