Couldn't resist...I had to start a new thread....
I just think there is a tinge bit of haterism going on. Deion Sanders has probably lived and exceeded in areas that we can only dream about and he did it with little effort and he did it HIS way. Thats why we find the haters. They don't like his mouth nor his attitude, but nobody denies his superior talent. A loud mouth and a defiant attitude never staopped Ali from being the greatest But I am sure that in retrospect that Deion says after...key word AFTER his playing days that he would have worked harder. Nobody has even mentioned this but the man was a very good baseball player as well as the best NFL cornerback at the same time. I believed in played in a baseball game and a football game on the same day???? (at least on back to back days)
The man was in music videos and rolling & balling and shot calling like SOME of us would if we could. He scored touchdowns all over the field, receiving, interception returns, punt returns, etc. He shut down one half of the field, there was no need for hom to huddle up...He started this trend and really brought the term shut down corner to light...How many 21's do you see versus 88 or 80. (88 & 80 worn by 2 of the greatest & hardest workers in NFL history).
I remember something Wilt Chamberlin said when Kareem was about to break his scoring record. Wilt said and I am parahrasining....."man if I had ever thought somebody was going to come along and break my scoring record, I would have put that record clean out of sight, because when I was playing..I was just playing ball...records were not even on my mind...I didn't know they were even keeping records"
Men...Deion was just living the life and if you think Jimmy Johnson wouldn't have wanted him on his team...well....you can look at all the characters and flamboyance on his Miami teams and that says it all. Jimmy LOVED PLAYMAKERS and Deion was one of the best at it of all times...not even trying hard. The boy was having fun, still is and making millions doiing. WHO IN THE WORLD WOULD NOT WANT TO BE THAT GIFTED? Only a hater.... I rest my case.....
Peace....
