Following a Poster

I'm following several posters, but can't figure out the advantage of doing so. I was kind of expecting to be able see and quickly jump to the posts by them, but I haven't found how to do that. There doesn't appear to be a selection in Alert Preferences or People You Follow. What am I missing?

Hover over your user name in upper right corner, a window opens and click on "people you follow", from the new page of people you are following click on a user name and in the window that opens click on "profile page", then click on "postings" right in the middle of the page.

This may sound like a lot of steps but it really only takes about 5 seconds once you get the steps down.

 

[Reality]

Mouse over or click your username at the top right in the blue menu bar. Inside that you will see a link to "Your News Feed".

Viewing that allows you to view the posts by the users you follow assuming they do not have privacy settings disabling it.
