this team has lost Keyshawn Johnson, Dan Campbell, La'Roi Glover, Dat Nguyen from last year's starting roster. Standing pat is fine, but if you lose players and do not replace them, you are relying heavily on the leftovers from FA and on the draft, don't you think?

According to the media, Keyshawn will be replaced by Terrell Owens. We might not care much for him, but he's hardly a "leftover."

Campbell was primarily a backup -- a blocking TE. He can be replaced fairly easily.

Glover was already replaced by last year's signee, Jason Ferguson. We only need a backup there, which can be found easily in FA or the draft.

Nguyen, as has been mentioned, has been replaced by Akin Ayodele.

And that's just where we stand four days into free agency. We could still see signings like Vinatieri, Vanderjagt, Mare, Fabini, Ashworth, Neal, Bashir, Sowell, etc.

KM, I understand your point, but how many of those teams also lost quality players? Unless the coaches believe we already have young players ready to step in

Kitty, normally i find your posts reasonable and fair.

OTOH today we sit $20-25m under the cap with Jerruh missing in action.

the same Jerruh who owns the 2nd most valued NFL franchise.

no spin doctoring or comparison to other teams is acceptable.

not today, not this year.

we're NOT in cap trouble and have not been for several years.

:(
That's just a great post.
