The Cowboys are refurbishing their roster with young players. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns have the 2nd oldest roster in the NFL. I realize Miles Garrett is a stud, but he cannot win the game against the Cowboys alone. Also, maybe old age isn't as big of a factor at the beginning of a season. But I think the Cowboys chances on Sunday are better than many believe.

I am more worried about their secondary and how ours fares against Cooper/Jeudy.

It will be a tough game on the road for sure with our young guys starting on the offensive line. Hopefully the defense can contain the Browns offense until the Cowboys offense gets it going which I believe they will. The best thing about this game is it’s such a great test for the Cowboys. They’re playing a physical team that prides itself on running the ball which in the past was a recipe for beating the Cowboys.

The Cowboys are going to be dealing with the growing pains of a number of young players this season. Hopefully they’re up for the challenge. Experience is an asset and we’re not going to have that at a few positions.

Probably the best post I’ve ever seen from you. This game is a great test for this team. One of the few great tests on our regular season schedule

I'd love to see Micah off the ball on early downs. Let him run, stop Cleveland ground game and crush Watson if he tries to leave the pocket.
Then, let him pin his ears against those tackles on third down as the game progresses.

Myles Garrett is only 28, that's not old, not even in the NFL. Unfortunately, he's not alone so you can't say that either. The Browns have a solid roster. The Cowboys will have to outplay these guys to get the "win" and I believe they will. Go Cowboys! :flagwave:

Dog Pound, crazy fans. Team that will punch you on the mouth. That said it depends on Watson. He is an enigma. He can have terrific games or he can crap the bed and throw pics like a rookie. I have no idea who will win

Add another ingredient to that recipe… a mobile and running QB.. Dallas has had problems with containment They can’t go helter skelter rushing the QB…

That's true.
But, I think, Watson's last terrific game was in 2020. Then again, he has wheels. He could Josh Dobbs us.

Its whatever the league determines it is. Winning and making money is what the game is. If a 50 year old player could play and help win, they would play him.
And look how depleted the running game has become because of trends. Its a trend game, nothing more.

I agree that it is a hard game to predict. If the Cowboys played them later in the season, I think the edge would go to the Cowboys for sure - due to the ageing of the overall roster. But they could be sharp the first game of the season. Dallas should be a better team, based on recent history, and the overall star power the Cowboys have. But none of us have seen how the 1st team will play, and in the current league, the first couple of games are warm-up games since the front line players don't play in preseason anymore.

I do think it will help that the Cowboys worked two weeks against the Rams in training camp instead of just one as planned.

It's the first game, no one has any idea.

How many times have I seen vastly superior teams get crushed on opening weekend?

A game like this where it would appear to be a close matchup, who knows. It could be the tight game you'd expect or either team could trounce the other.

Football is a team sport and has to be earned no matter the age. If a player is earning his spot...lay off the age to just cry.

Yep, probably 2 fairly matched opponents that each laid an egg in the last game they played.
