Football Software

I have a few things that come to mind. I googled some coaching software that would do the trick but it got pretty pricey. If you just want 2D squares, circles, lines, arrows, etc., then you are looking for FIG type softwares. They have a nice grid for aligning objects and are great for making physics diagrams and stuff. You should be able to do football plays quite nicely. The learning curve is small to medium.

Linux has a program called XFig, which is freaking awesome, but it has not been completely ported to Windows. I think it could be made to run on Windows, but it is not a trivial install. A few good alternatives are below.
