If Romo was released today, 31 teams would put in a waiver claim.
If Bledsoe was released today, would he ever see another day in an NFL uniform?
You're resorting to sophistry here.
It's unfair to compare the two situations... it's well known Bledsoe has no interest in being a backup, so while I'm sure many teams would like to have him as a backup, few outside of maybe the Raiders or Seahawks would sign him to be their starter. Romo's a whole nother story. Any team that would try to pick up him would do so to be a backup. It's like comparing apples to oranges.
And secondly, I think you're wrong about Romo's market value. Some teams certainly would try to pick up Romo, but at this point in the season, with rosters set, I'm sure most teams wouldn't. Looking in our own division, I don't know that ANY of the teams would try to pick him up. I know for a fact that the Commanders would have no interest in him, and I'm sure the Eagles would bring back Detmer before they'd look to Romo. I don't know about the Giants back-up situation, but they certainly don't need a young project QB.
