For anyone solely judging Lawrence on sacks

I'm glad this is now coming to light around here.

Dude is insane playing against the run and has the speed of average wide receivers. Anyone see him on Jaylon's fumble return against Tampa Bay? Ran with him all the way to the end zone.

Pay that man.

There were maybe 1% of us on here that have seen Lawrence's contributions all along and knew just how high his ceiling was. We were often berated. After 2016 there were some that said they woupdnt resign Lawrencr for more than the minimum and others that outright wanted him cut depsite his minimal contract at the time. Another user(he's very active) used revisionist history claiming how big of a despreation pick he was and that he was actually a 5th round prospect not a 2nd.

Nice to see he and Byron prove so many people wrong.

This clip is amazing. Wow! What a motor!

I see a few people on here trying to downplay his impact because his sacks have been quiet as of late so I figured I would share.

One of the most balanced DEs/edge guys in the league. Lost in the sacks is how great he is against the run!

Thanks for sharing, but I haven't seen anyone trying to "downplay him".

at the very least, he gets 17 million for the next season. hope we can lock him up long term.

If we were to lose him for a game(s) (knocking on wood), everybody would quickly learn just how good/valuable he is! He really is the centerpiece of the defense.

If people really watch it's pretty easy to see he is a very good run defender as well as being a quality pass rusher.

Lawrence is worth about $16-18 million a season, Cooper about $14-16, Elliott about $20-22 and same for Prescott.

He's been playing at an elite level the last 2 seasons. Great player and we need to keep him on the team.
That being said, I think it's a slightly disingenuous to suggest since 2015. One of the criticisms many had was that he needed to show he could stay on the field. He's done that for 2 seasons. I would certainly take the chance.

He's a beast alright. It's funny, remember the narrative a year or 2 ago about how Dallas was awful drafting in the 2nd round...that's sure has changed recently

2018: Connor Williams - Jury is still out on him. Probably shouldn't be starting right but is doing OK for a rookie in the 2nd rd.
2017: Chidobe Awuzie - Off to a very good start of his career. Only 2nd year in the league and he's already a good starter with future pro bowl potential.
2016: Jaylon Smith - Stud. A future All-Pro LB.
2015: Randy Gregory - Having a breakout season. Not only are you seeing him pressure QB, he's pretty good against the run. I would say future pro bowl potential but you cant predict the future with his off-field issues. But in the present, he's a very good starter.
2014: Demarcus Lawrence - Stud. All-Pro pass rusher.

It's funny. The coaching staff has been saying this for some time now. But this board needs Bob Sturm to say it to believe

2013 - Gavin Escobar
2012 - None
2011 - Bruce Carter
2010 - Sean Lee
2009 - None
2008 - Martellus Bennett
2007 - None
2006 - Anthony Fasano
2005 - Kevin Burnett

That's where that reputation came from. For nearly a decade we either drafted Tight Ends we didn't need or use, Linebackers who outside of Lee were JAGs, or didn't have 2nd round picks. Was 2014 when McClay got more responsibility in the draft room? I dunno. We've sure drafted better since then, that's for sure.

Oh for sure, it was definitely well earned. I was just commenting on how quickly it did an 180.
