For fun: Who would win a jump ball, Dez or Fitzgerald?

No one is out jumping Calvin so I didn't put him into the discussion. I think after him the next two best are Dez and Fitz. So in a deep ball scenario, who would come down with it assuming both have equal positioning, Dez, or Fitz?

Dez Bryant, especially at first blush...

But after seeing vertical jump numbers... Dez Bryant.

Larry Fitzgerald
Vertical Jump: 35"

Dez Bryant
Vertical Jump: 38"

It bounces off their hands and into the waiting lap of Danny Coale.

At this point I'd take Fitz all day, erry day.

I don't think there's a WR with more ability in jump ball situations than Dez Bryant.

That's why the guy is never really covered. I don't care if he has Revis attached to his hip. Chuck it up, he'll go get it.

I just hope we see Dez jump for these balls in the second half of games this year.

Sorry, but a 3 inch advantage in vertical isn't enough for me to determine this. A lot of it has to do with positioning, timing, and the hands to make a tough catch. Love Dez and can't wait for him to officially break out this year, but I'm throwing to Fitz every time.

QFT. I can't believe all of you are just looking at verticals. This is Fitzgerald's signature move.

Yeah I knew about the verts before I made the thread but I've seen Fitz do it so many times you cant just say Dez will outright beat him for it, I do think it would be damn close though

Oh and guess what. It doesn't matter who's throwing to Fitzgerald. He still puts up fantastic numbers either way. He's the very definition of a "throw and go get" receiver.

Fitz was doing it in college, with 3-4 defenders around him. I would need to see Dez more in this situation.

God forbid anyone have an opinion, even when stating that they formed this opinion BEFORE seeing the vertical numbers.

A jump ball is not based solely on verticals :laugh1:

And whats your opinion based on again?

Eyes. You know, those things that you have on that bump between your shoulders?

Just because someone elses opinion isn't the same as yours doesn't mean it's wrong.

The poster ahead of me said look at vertical #s, not me. I just replied with vertical #s.

Vertical numbers may not constitute a better jump ball ability, but having a better one certainly doesn't hurt.

Here's an idea: Grow up.
