The skins went through how many years of horrible qbs before getting a shot at RGIII. Do you forget the 1st round pick they spent on Campbell and the high pick they spent on Patrick Ramsey? How about the picks they gave up for McNabb?

The Bengals certainly got a young qb with some promise. Having said that, he only has 3 less ints than Romo has this year. I'll grant you that he is only in his 2nd year but he is far from a sure fire franchise qb imo.

As far as Romo's accuracy, he has missed on a few passes this year that were headscratchers. No doubt.

Having said that, he is 7th in the league in completion percentage and above a guy like Brady.

65% is darn good.

65% dinking and dunking isn't all that special. I forget where I read the stat, but Romo's throws over 20 yards plus is extremely low. Tom Brady throws deep more than 50% of the time. Romo never goes deep and if he does, its usually picked off.

Listen, I get some of what your saying. I laid it out there myself today. He puts up stats and he is the best we have behind a bad oline. Agree

BUT he has also been part of the problem for years. These aren't new mistakes. Along with the talent and overcoming the line you get his 10 cent brain that shorts out during seasons and will lose a game or two. That is fact. There are a lot if guys like Roethlisberger and others who gave succeeded despite their line and weapons. They minimize mistakes and ride what they have. Romo hasn't learned that. A lot of his mistakes change the momentum of games...see Baltimore a few years back where everyone blamed the D at the end. Great plays with dumb plays equals .500

A good bit of what the OP has merit, but I'm sorry, some of y'all need to take your blinders off. Romo BADLY missed receivers on at least 3 occasions I recall sunday. And those weren't due to him "running for his life on nearly every play".

Romo's a very good QB and I'm happy he's there. But this complete absolution he's getting because of all the other factors mentioned, are just patently incorrect.

There have been games where Romo's receivers and OL failed him miserably, but Sunday wasn't one of them. The line was more than adequate and Witten, Austin, and Bryant were all balling.

Romo flat out sucked Sunday, and he missed a lot more than 3 throws. A LOT.

I agree that some times Romo's teammates have let him down. I did not think he was one of the ten best players that we had on the field for us on Sunday. The Dez INT was probably a WR mistake but also a poor QB read. The Austin TD was a poor decision/throw, the JPP INT should have been lofted a bit more and I think he messed up the red zone sequence at the end of the game.

I do think he is playing at about an average level right now in the league and that isn't good enough for a guy making $11M per year.

I think his limitations in size, arm strength and ability to make reads has finally caught up to him and I don't think he'll be elite again unless his surrounding cast is elite. So we could still win with him with a great defense and a great running game but we usually haven't even had one of those most years here and this is a QB league right now.

I think we should try and trade him in the offseason and start over. He is never going to take us to the promised land but is still a valuable trading chip.
