Rev. Archie Sauls, Sr., ordained in 2004 by Pastor Benny Finn of Church On The Rock in Dallas, has been building his Prayer Kneelers for years. He and his brothers were building furniture when he came up with the idea of building a small bench so that one could kneel and pray in the home.
While talking to a woman in a fabric store, the reverend got the idea of adding the theme of his favorite team to that concept.
"She told me that her husband didn't believe in God nor did he attend church functions," Sauls said. "I asked her if he was in to sports. She said yes, he's a Cowboy fanatic, so being there at the fabric store I found the licensed Cowboy fabric and placed it on the kneeler and presented it to her. She called me and said her husband prays all the time on the kneeler and has started going to church."
The graduate of the University of North Texas calls himself the "Master Builder" and hopes families can grow together by building the Prayer Kneeler together.
