I see our cornerbacks and safeties actually turning their heads and playing the ball.
I'd like to give a nod to Joe Baker and Greg Jackson. Our db play is on the upswing.
Improvements across the board from Mo and even Wilcox.
It's still early and some big tests still await, starting next week, but early results are good.
I think we upgraded our coaching on the backend of the defense.

And yes I know about the health of mo and the lack of interceptions but the arrow is trending up
What say you?

Well they're mixing things up a little and the guys seem to know their roles that said when you got an explosive offense you can take a hell of a lot more chances on defense and I'm loving it

Have seen less faceguarding bs resulting in receptions or penalties.

Agreed. Been making that point for a couple of weeks now. Playing ball in the air has greatly improved. Across the secondary.

The secondary is playing really well.

Definitely Mo is beasting out there. But i think a lot of credit should go to B Jones. I wonder if someone who does real film study could confirm - But I think Having a legit cover safety is allowing other players to do less - which is why Church and Wilcox look better this year and maybe why the coaches are playing different coverage packages or schemes.

Could it be that players had to overcompensate in past for lack of a cover safety to try and hide that weakness ?

Great point Hoov, I see the safeties playing much better angles downfield. Wilcox was a must cut in my book and now he's hitting like the SS we thought he might be his rookie year.

I'm ready to forgive Jackson now for separating Emmitt's shoulder back in 1993 :)

It's hard to imagine it's that simple but, it is.

What could last years coaches have been telling them? Never look at the ball?

Also big props to whoever decided to switch Mo to the other side of the field. He is much improved!!
