Dont think so. With Gregory and now Lawrence i dont see them risking 4 on a pot head.

Bosa and Zeke roomed together at one point. Bosa had to move out because Zeke partied too much. Zeke smokes weed too, not that it's a big deal. But if they're worried about drug rumors (and that's all they are for Bosa, too) then they're not drafting Ezekiel Elliot.

I get the impression that Zeke would wind up being an extremely dedicated player at the next level and these so-called "partying" worries will look really silly when all is said and done. On the other hand, pretty sure we'll be losing both Gregory and Lawrence for double digit games at some point in the near future because, you know, they're selfish idiots.

And McShay has us taking Zeke...well, another one coming around to my way of thinking...

I may be coming around myself.

I believe the 2014 defense played as they did because of the running attack and ball control. I have gotten off of Ramsey now, thinking he just may be a more athletic Mo.

The idea of maybe one of the best running attacks in the game covers over a lot of problems.

Fully agree. I'm all the way around. This has to be the pick and we cannot risk losing him by trading down. I think there are other teams that are willing to swoop in, trading up multiple spots if necessary, to land this guy. He is one of those true can't miss prospects, a rarity, and something teams will pay heavily for.

The long runs are nice in the vid below, but look at the ability around the goal line. I mean, this guy is an absolute goal line weapon, which is everything in this league.

Goal line is the same as third down and moving the sticks. What Murray brought was the ability to keep the drive alive. That surely is equivalent of a sack or two a game, isn't it?

Obsession? I want the best player that will have the greatest positive impact on the team. If that makes me obsessed, so be it. But to answer your question - because he's really, really good?

I was initially opposed to him at 4 because he was viewed as a top 10-15 prospect. But recently there was much talk about him going to the Eagles when they were at 8 or the Giants at 10. Then after analyzing the other potential prospects at 4, none stood out.

If the QB's are gone, Bosa or Buckner or Ramsey are good players but none are must have prospects at 4. The more I looked at them I decided Elliot makes as much or more sense. He has a chance to have the most impact and is closer than any of the others to being a can't miss prospect. Of course I'd rather be able to trade down somewhere around 7-8, but if we stay at 4 I think I'd take Elliot over the 3 defensive players being discussed.

If we traded down to the 7-8 range in hopes of drafting EE, would a team like the Giants trade up to take him? If so, just stay at 4 and take him. Sometimes it is best not to get too cute and just play your position and get ready for round 2.
