For the love... quit saying Troy hates the Cowboys/Romo

I've seen so many posts over the years about how Troy "hates" the Cowboys and is always bashing on them. SO FREAKING STUPID. Just because the guy is a honest, unbiased sports commentator, you know, actually doing his job well and professionally unlike most people raised in the US since 1970. No wonder our news media is going the way of England and is all gossip and tabloids of late.

And now I here about how he is hating on Romo because everyone loves him, etc...I swear these people must not have watched a single game when Troy was playing, he was the single most unselfish and gracious player I have come across....and to put some water on this whole fire, a quote from an article someone posted earlier today:

"For those out there being cynical and waiting for the wheels to fall off, I think they'll be waiting for awhile," Aikman said from Dallas. "This guy is pretty good. Bill thinks this kid is the real deal. I do, too. I think he can be here for a long time. He's a really good player."

Sounds like hate to me...come on.

Unless he's gushing over the Cowboys like Theesman does Wash some people here will think he hates them. He's just doing his job and staying neutral. Now Jack Buck is a different story.

Couldn't agree with you more. The Aikman hater threads are deviant homer rants. If you attempt to constructively criticize you are a hater. Didn't Aikman get his share of constructive criticism when he played. What's wrong trying to report in a balanced manner.

I guess it is human nature to hear what you want or expect to hear.

First off, Irvin knocked the Cowboys up until this season before they signed Owens. Last year he kept knocking Dallas, even when they had a 7-3 record, because they had "two #2 WR's. Not a #1 WR." It wasn't until Dallas signed Owens that he became the big homer (I actually think Jaws is just as bad if not worse).

I don't think Aikman hates the Cowboys, but I think he's very afraid of the homer label so then he becomes overly harsh on them to help discard the label. And it's obvious that he really doesn't like Owens.

I only get angry about Troy's work when he misses coverage assignments badly or when there's an obviously bad call by the refs and he's unwilling to admit that it was a bad call because it went against Dallas.

While I can't stand Theismann, it's been a long time since I've had any issues with him calling a Cowboys game. He's a Skins homer for sure, but he's usually pretty objective when Dallas is on TV.

I like it cause he wears it on his sleeve. You don't have to wonder where his bread is buttered and so you know where he is coming from. Some guys have motives in what they say but because they don't wear their team colors its hard to figure them out. Mike makes it easier to know he is just talking out of his rear end. I rather that than guys with an agenda that don't wanna put all their cards on the table.

This may end my posting privileges here but theisman has really surprised me on MNF. I actually like the guy and think at times he adds something to the booth that wouldn't otherwise be there. He isn't nearly the idiot every other cowboy's fan seems to want to make him. I am sure I just made some people's eyes bleed though.
