For the past 27 years, this franchise has been fooling Cowboys fans

We were originally talking about turnovers and you went off a non related topic about a 6 point loss in the playoffs. Typical

No dude, YOU quoted MY post that was lamenting the cowboys soft defense. If anybody is obfuscating it's you, lol.

What's that got to do with now? 24 and 9 over 2 years and they have their best team in decades. Strange that you are so negative when we are going into the playoffs and should win the first game. Very strange. So strange to bad mouth them when they are doing so well. By the way the gm is no amature like you keep saying.
Only bashing Jerry the gm due to 27 years of mediocrity

Well it"s dumb now because they are doing a great job and have a shot at winning this year.
Dude you can't just forget the past.

Jerry needs to answer for wasting 27 years of this franchise.

By the way a professional GM
Would not go zero for 27 seasons
With no NFCC appearances.

To be fair, why stop at 27 seasons? Why not go to 30 and count the SBs?
He's just trying to be positive about the last 2 years, and while I don't really agree with his take, I also don't agree with cherry picking just the years without a SB appearance.

I just can't take the unbridled optimism when this franchise had done jack squat for 27 years.
Last 2 years include us spitting the bit against the 49ers.
I do give Jerry credit for hiring Jimmy and so partial credit for the Super Bowls, but the last 27 years have been very frustrating.

Let's storm the star with pitchforks and torches
Let's demand change!!!!
Over in the UK, the Manchester United soccer supporters want the Glazers out, so every time MU score, the MU fans shout "Glazers Out" because they know the score will be shown on TV and so spread to a wider audience.
Maybe the fans in Jerry World could try that tactic for start (obviously that would be Jones out in our case).

Well we all know (including Jerry) that Jimmy was largely responsible for building those teams that won the 3 SBs.
Since Jerry is been doing it himself, nada, hence the 27 year time frame (and also the fact we've won nothing for 27 years).

Do you think that the ownership is not trying to win this year? I've got news for you, they are trying to win and believe that they should win every game they play the rest of the year. Enjoy the ride.
Jerry always believes they should win every game. Pity the rest of the league don't agree.

Jerry's biggest obstacle, and possibly Jimmy's too, is the salary cap. Once that came about, neither of them had much luck.

Let's be honest here, Jerry and Stephen don't have the skill to build a Championship team in the salary cap/free agency era, which is why we won't win another SB as long as they are in charge (unless the radically change how they run the team, which is unlikely to happen).

That's my issue,
I am sure Jerry and Stephen want to win.
But running an NFL team is very complex now.
It takes a certain list of skills and abilities.
If the Jones had those, we would have had more post season success by now.
27 years is a large sample size.

Nah / not fools gold
Super Bowls are the yearly goal - but they aren’t an easy thing to do. Every fanbase wants that however
There are 12 teams that never won a Super Bowl. Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Chargers, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Houston Texans. Four of those teams never even appeared-
Dallas is one of the elite Franchises who have won multiple super bowls / sure what have you done for us lately but it doesn’t make them fools good or us as fans fools- why ? Because we have freedom of choice - you don’t like - move on - flip channel - cheer for another team - join another forum - chat in another group - leave - move - you are either a fan of a team with all of its warts or you’re just someone who enjoys misery of whining - complaining etc about everything that goes right or wrong - cheer don’t cheer - your choice - fools gold - nah - team sports - life of a fan
Cheer !!
Go Cowboys

Commonly known to majority as "FOOLS GOLD"
Pyrite received that nickname because it is worth virtually nothing, but has an appearance that "fools" people into believing that it is gold. With a little practice, there are many easy tests that anyone can use to quickly tell the difference between pyrite and gold.

The nickname "fool's gold" has long been used by gold buyers and prospectors, who were amused by excited people who thought they had found gold. These people did not know how to tell the difference between pyrite and gold, and their ignorance caused them to look foolish

So that takes us to our beloved Dallas Cowboys. For the past 27 years, this franchise has been fooling Cowboys fans with the new stadium, aka: Jerry's World, numerous seasons of .500 records with "the clapper", the traditional collapses after Thanksgiving and the year after year hearing this franchise "has so much talent". Romo has the franchise record of passing yards and TD passes, now we learn that Prescott ties Aikman with 165 TD passes. Neither Romo or Prescott can't get their team to a single NFC Conference game. Neither could even produce back-to-back playoff wins in a single season. Jerry gets on his weekly radio to sell more pyrite and it works. Cowboys are the richest sports franchise worth over 8 Billion. Every year is #1 in Forbes Magazine. The Cowboys get the highest TV ratings and highest attendance of any NFL team. All this without do anything---ON THE FIELD-- for 27 years. Not even a single NFC Conference game.

The selling of pyrite have left the Cowboys fans coming back for more because "fan" is short for FANATIC. Fans want to buy into anything that makes them feel good. I guess that is just part of being fan of anything. So until this franchise can actually buy the authentic nuggets of gold, the Dallas Cowboys franchise will keep selling pyrite and fan base will keep pointing to the 5 Superbowl rings when the franchise was GOLD !
I disagree with the premise! Cowboys fans have been fooling themselves. ;)

They showed a lot of skill and ability to build the very good team that they have now. Their plan is actually working. I explained it to you more than once, but you are too busy complaining to understand or enjoy it. How does the Philly gm look today? Do you think that they are enjoying it now?

Hey Sully, No owner in sports wants to win more than Jerruh W. Jones** as tired as we are as fans of this long drought, imagine what Jones is going through hearing about how he can't win without Jimmy Johnson?! We've had a few teams in that time span that were good enough to go deep into the playoffs, but unfortunately it didn't work out. That is part of sports, you win some and you lose some, but as a fan understand that winning a Super Bowl is a very difficult task and will always be the ULTIMATE GOAL not FOOLS GOLD.

That is not true. Jerry has publicly admitted that he sucks as a GM, but insists on the role. That points directly at not caring about winning.

Jerry only cares about self aggrandizement.

If Jerry cared about winning he would close the damn curtains. He may think he cares about winning, but his ego gets in the way and is a much more powerful force in his life.
