consider this, Rivera isn't playing, he's going to be huge for the running game and protecting Bledsoe inside, plus teams know we are going to run the ball, but what's key is, we aren't showcasing our regular season passing offense, so we aren't taking advantage of the attention shown to the running game as we would in the regular season...

another thing I would like to point out is, our D is going to be huge this year, having the ability to transition between the 3-4 and 4-3 is going to be key, not to mention the Dline talent we've stacked up will allow Ellis and Glover, our 2 best Dlineman, to be fresher throughout, that's increased pressure throughout the whole game, instead of it tailing off in the 2nd half like last year, our CBs are going to be fine, plus we still haven't showcased our blitz packages that we'll be using during the regular season...

ball-control on offense and a suffocating D is going to be our bread and butter this year, good enough to improve at least 2 games from last year IMO

c'mon, anybody got something to add? it's my 1st thread and would like it to start off with a bang! lol

In my book Bledsoe is still very suspect.......That should get the sparks flying. :D

Welcome to the board. enjoy ;)

The o seemed to pick up after a few drive. JJ was finally able to get going, and bledsoe looked pretty good. One question though, where has t. glenn been this preseason. I thought he was doing great in camp but does nothing in the games.

Don't know why we kept playing that soft defense. Once we started attacking we looked very good. Had trouble pressuring the qb though if we werent blitzing. Ware was able to create pressure at least. I would like to see the spin move from him, something freeney does all the time with lots of success.

yeah, 3-4? we had 4-5 guys with their hands on the ground most of the evening.

ghst, dont' think for a minute that we're abandoning the 3-4, Parcells already explained that he doesn't know how much 4-3, or 3-4, he's going to be using, he saw the 3-4 last week, now he wanted to see the 4-3, I think by wk. 4 of the preseason, we'll see how the D will be run during the regular season, how they spread the work out between both schemes...

thssanders, I'm telling you, we aren't taking advantage of teams overloading against the run and blitzing Bledsoe, and it's for a real, important reason, saving it for when it counts, the regular season, which would be throwing quick outs to Glenn...

Ultimately, I think you hit on it -- we are not really game planning the opponent. We're game planning what Parcells wants to see so he can assess specific players/units. I'm not super caught up on the offense not clicking. 3rd preseason game is usually a dress rehearsal for most teams. I don't know if BP sees it that way though.

Agree on D. They will create a lot of turnovers. We have great depth on the line even without Spears, and in the secondary too - though coverage wasn't good tonight. Next draft we'll pick up another stud LB and we'll be set for a few years.

Nope.. we ran a base 3-4 the majority of the game with the OLB's standing up. When Sea.. had to pass every down we played our knickel with a 4-3 front..

zag, I think I read something where Parcells said he wouldn't open up the offense, or play it around bledsoe and what he does best until the 4th preseason game

btw, THANKS! glad to be here among like-minded sport fans!

Yea, but I will say I hope our offense lites it up early in the season,I feel our Defense will need it...

Teams will blitz Bledsoe every down. He is so slow......
I hope so. It will be the biggest mistake they will ever make. 1. We will be ready. 2. We have the personal to make them pay.
