Of course there will be other available in FA that we don't know about and some of the JRs could stay in school. Looks like a AWFULLY thin year in FA. Just something to think about in case we decide NOT to give TO his bonus.

Top 2007 Free Agent WRs

By: Greg Davis:
QB | RB | WR | OL | DL | LB | DB | K
Drew Bennett, UFA, Tennessee Titans
Bennett might not be considered a special wide receiver in NFL circles, but the UCLA product has great size and good hands as a second receiving option. An uncanny connection with quarterback Billy Volek in 2004 helped Bennett to 1,247 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. With the drafting of Vince Young, Volek won’t be playing much for the Titans in the near future, so Bennett could easily move on—to a team ready to compete in the present. Several teams could use Bennett to compliment a smaller and faster receiver, and if used properly, Bennett can put up strong numbers once again. To see Bennett back in Tennessee would be quite unexpected.
Deion Branch, UFA, New England Patriots
Branch may be Tom Brady’s favorite target, but the Patriots organization doesn’t play favorites. They’re not going to let Brady go anywhere, but the team has shown that they are not afraid of finding new parts to plug into their system. If Branch’s contract is “fixed” to his liking, he’ll probably end up sticking around, but if he becomes a holdout into the season, the Pats may let him walk to save face. New England, after all, overtly considers the team bigger than any one player. As for potential Branch suitors, a team that realizes Branch isn’t a true number one receiver would benefit most from his services.
Kevin Curtis, UFA, St. Louis Rams
It is likely that Curtis hangs around St. Louis. He’s being used more and more in the offense and Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt are only getting older. If Curtis leaves the Rams, it will be because he doesn’t feel utilized enough and another team wants his services with a nice pay check offer. The Rams may just work an extension and save the trouble of Curtis looking around in the off season, but if Curtis does hit the market, he’ll make a solid second wide receiver for a team willing to use his speed in the right way.

Sidney Rice is better than Samardzija and Ginn.

I pity the fools that take Ginn in the first round.

One name left off of these lists.

Randy Moss has incentives which kick in that make him an UFA this next season.

Bledsoe sure tosses a nice deep ball.

Didn't Samardzia sign a baseball contract or something?

He'll be a #1 in the NFL and probably be in that #20 area barring injury or a horrible year. Both Spears and Carp got about 11 million(in 4-5 years) in that 20 area.If i'm him i go NFL. It takes 3-4 years for a MLB pitcher to get from the minors to the majors, yet he could blow up year 1 as a WR.

The Chicago Cubs agreed to a contract Sunday with Jeff Samardzija, a fifth-round draft pick and star wide receiver for the Fighting Irish football team. Samardzija's deal is for five years and worth up to $7.25 million, a source close to Samardzija said.

Well, in baseball, your career will probably be longer, and you won't get a beatdown every week. Honestly, of the big three sports from a player prospective, football is the last choice. Fans fall in love with a sport, but this is a business to players. It is why Quincy, Henson, and others come to football last. Would you want to get your head beat in all the time as your job?? Course not, especially if you don't have to, rather play bball in a air-conditioned gym, ala Charlie Ward.

This is the same reason most players prefer doom stadiums (with grass if possible) to play football. Most fans don't think about it like this, but I'm here to tell you the frozen tundra sounds cool, but they would much rather play a sport that doesn't require them to get beat down in unpredictable weather conditions all the time.

Oh hell no. We've had enough drama already with the TO situation.

I agree with you on Ginn, right now he doesnt look like that great of a reciever. If he plays every game this year like he played the last 4 last year, then we could both end up being very wrong. Cant deny his speed.

Secondly, I will point this out one more time. Sidney Rice is the product of Steve Spurriers fun and gun. The man has NEVER sent even a quality reciever to the NFL let alone a star. Might as well draft a Texas Tech QB.
