What do you all think about Brandon Tate from UNC as a second day pick?

Todd McShay had this to say:
"Brandon Tate, North Carolina -- Tate is a fluid route-runner who has the body control to adjust to passes outside his frame, but he's at his best making plays in the open field. He's dangerous after the catch and has the potential to develop into a productive return man. After all, he owns the NCAA record for total return yards (3,523). The only reason Tate doesn't project as a first-day pick is the season-ending knee injury he sustained in October."

Here is a highlight video I found...

Tate is a good return specialist and looks like a decent slot guy but he won't be running at full speed for about another 3 months or so.

I wouldn't draft him before round 5 at the earliest.

He is pretty small and 5"11" and 183 pounds and while he is undoubtedly quick his football production is pretty tame except as a return guy. He had about half as many college catches as he had kickoff returns.

Yeah...I'm thinking that he could be a great pick if he falls far enough. But who knows.

They think he would be a 1st or 2nd round pick if not for the injury?

Hope he is in the mix as we mull over our options at 51 or 69, we could have somthing decent slide our way this draft without throwing away some of our extra picks.

If we draft Tate at 51, I'll be very upset.

I dont think we have to worry, I cant imagine anyone using a 1st day pick on him considering his injury situation, unless they have multiple first day picks and some depth at WR, and can afford to wait to see any return.
