Just wanted to pass on some rumors I've been reading about.

PS3's are coming out in slim models and there will be a price drop for all PS3's across the board.

Then there is visual evidence that the Xbox 360 Pro console will cease to exist. Look around at Walmart, Sams, Target, Gamestop, Bestbuy ect and you will see TONS of 60gb Pro Bundles.

Rumor has it that the Elite and Arcade will be the only 360 consoles made (until Xbox Natal in late 2010) and that the Elite will drop in price to $299 to try and compete with the new cheaper PS3 Slim.

Yesterday Dell was offering 60gb 360's for $240 shipped. (Today they are back up to 270 shipped)

Just a few things keep it in mind if you are in the market for a new Game Console. It might be better to wait a month or two and let everything settle price wise.

BTW I also hear the Wii won't be cutting its price but will add extra games/controllers to keep up with Sony and Microsoft.

And one last bit of news is that Microsoft announced that they will be entering the handheld gaming market in the near future.

Also worth noting is that the Elite will now come with ONLY a composite cable. No more component or HDMI pack-ins. You'll have to buy your own cable if you want your shiny new HD system to actually OUTPUT in HD.

Also, the network cable is being removed from the Arcade unit.

I haven't played the 360, but I enjoyed kicking the crap out of my brother on Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe when I was in Texas about two weeks ago on his PS3.

He has Madden 09' and all the buttons were changed from earlier versions. I'm not sure why they would do that. :confused:

The Xbox 360 has, and will continue to have better games. Online experience is also a no contest. Real gamers game with 360's.

:cool:

Vi <-> Emacs
Cowboys <-> <..crickets..>

I just do it cause I know some x-crap fan will get mad. I still play ps2 cause I don't really play videogames anymore and the only game i've played the last few years is Madden.

Then how would you know if PS3's are better if you don't play games often and mostly play your PS2?

Wow :)

everybody I know who purchased a ps3 is still playing the one they bought. half the people i know who got a 360 either had to send it in to get fixed or had to get a new one.

I think Xbox has better game play and better online play but yes they do break.

My cousins PS3 just broke after a year & a half n is out of warrenty. Sony wanted 170$ to fix it. My graphics card on my Elite just went out after owning it for 2.5 years and its out of warrenty and MSFT is fixing it for free :p:
