16 games is tough on an professional QB. Must be especially difficult when you're 42 yrs. old.

There is NO WAY VT is the starter next year. No matter what BP says with respect to VT being in excellent shape etc., it's taken a toll on VT.

It's just that you expect so much MORE out of a seasoned vet like VT.

At the minimum, you expect the mistakes to be minimized.

He's not an upgrade, but QC is also not here. Hindsight is 20/20. Some believe that it was QC and drugs but this was never admitted to by the brass.

I think there was a plan to get him out of here because they didn't believe that he was our future, so now, we are trying to figure out who is, or if we have to draft or pick up a vet.

yea if Q was our QB we would have already locked up a playoff birth.

I know Vinny has huge faults like throwing INT's at the worse possible time. But still don't see how anyone longs for the days w/ Q at QB. It took major injuries at the QB position for a team like the Jets to take a chance on him as a #2 QB when noone else wanted him, which im sure was mainly based on his drug problem :yeah right:

Do I think Testaverde is a good NFL qb, nope. Do I think he gives us a better chance to win than Q..yes regardless of how Vinny looks today.

I suppose not. But consider that when we played the Saints last year in a game where it would have been nice to play well as we prepared for the Playoffs the following week, Quincy led us to all of 7 points and threw 3 picks.. didnt really matter that his completion percentage was fine.

Point being I'm not exactly sitting here thinking that I wish Q was the QB today no matter how silly VT looks. Neither guy gave you warm and fuzzies looking to the future so what diff does any of it make.

Had a horendous game today. His age is catching up with him. His mechanics are failing as is his confidence.



He will retire.

Vinny has played pretty good at times and I do not think Carter is a big loss in the long term view of things.

However, I always wonder how he would of done with another year in the O and the improved pass blocking of the Off Line this year. I remember the Off line just being horrible last year. Not that I think our team would be much better or worse with Carter, but more out of curiosity.

The mere fact we have people longing for Quinthy is testament to the fact that the quarterbacking situation is so lacking and has been so very ridiculous for years now.

Parcells has had to "ask" VT if hes healthy enough to play since before the TG game. I dont think his back and shoulder have healed.

I wont use that as an excuse though. This team started camp with Carter as #1. VT was supposed to be #2. We all know the story so we were stuck with what we have.
It now becomes a question of where to go from here. I sure dont know.
All we have is the hope that Parcells does.
Going to be another interesting off season.
