If the person you have listed as the beneficiary on your checking/savings accounts appears on the Bank Statement Printout, make sure to ask your loan officer if that will be a problem.

My sister is the beneficiary on my checking account and has the acronymns "POD" next to her name on my Bank Statement. The Loan Processor called me at the last minute today and told me I had to get my sister to sign a document stating that I have full access to my checking account. I tried to explain that she only gets the money if I die, but they claimed the investors wanted it in writing or they won't fund the loan.

They don't have a fax at my mother's house, So I had to drive all the way down here to Arlington to get my sister to sign it.

FYI for next time

just have your sister go to a Kinkos, and give her your fax number

will save you alot of trouble and it's cheap

r

Negative. She doesn't have a car. This post just shows how strict lenders have gotten and of course to vent.

Still trying to buy that house, huh?

:laugh1:

You must look like a shady character and that is why they want to know EVERYTHING about you. Maybe the seller does not want you in his/her house?

Ever thought about that?

:p:

Wait until closing time! Get ready to sign about 3,000 documents!

yeah, closing's a pain. I did it last year. Just refinanced again, and it was a breeze. Did my closing by mail, and it didn't seem like there were many documents to sign.

Yeah, the Loan Processor has been my shadow for the last two days, it is a little annoying even though she is just doing her job. But this past request was really odd but Loan Officer said that is why it is so hard to close loans these days because they are asking for all kinds of stuff. He said it is very rare for most people to close a loan in 15 days like we are doing.

We do our final workthrough tommorrow and then Thursday, I become the average American and take on a huge amount of debt :laugh2: .
