Antonio Cromartie may have lingering hip problem per PFT
Posted by Mike Florio on June 28, 2010 8:39 AM ET
After a breakout season in 2007, former Chargers cornerback Antonio Cromartie regressed. His sluggish performance the following year has been attributed to a hip injury that had been concealed and/or understated by the team.

Now that Cromartie plays for the Jets, the hip problem possibly still exists.

In comments to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com, Jets secondary coach Dennis Thurman discloses that Cromartie received some rest during minicamp due both to a sore hamstring and "somewhat of a hip issue."

It's unknown whether and to what extent the Jets knew of any existing hip issue when trading for Cromartie. It's also possible that Cromartie developed a new hip injury once the offseason program began.

Either way, Cromartie needs to overcome the situation if he wants to parlay his contract year into a big-money, long-term deal with the Jets or someone else.

His hip problem is also known as uncontrollable third leg condition. Requires lots of rest, or restraint.

lol thats a good one,i had forgotten about that; :muttley:

It sounds as if the Chargers were hiding this injury, which is against league rules. They could get fined for that.
