For those who think Carimi can fill our RT spot

this kid is SOLID. I watched 5 Wisconsin games including one in person where MSU beat them this year and the kid was virtually flawless. His feet are top notch, speed is adequate and has a little mean streak. Can we trade down to 13-16ish and still get him? What would that get us, an extra 3rd rounder?

I wouldn't have any issue with grabbing him at all, but I can't see Dallas going after him unless they plan on trading down.

Larry Allen dominated a little bit too. Big E just about made Reggie White cry on many occasions. He'd head butt Reggie into submission. Outlawed that move because of Big E. (Remember, in a playoff game he also knocked Bryant Young of the whiners so hard sideways he landed awkwardly and snapped the femur in his leg!) He was an arse kicker extraordinaire.:D

Off the subject a Bit,....this thread gave me a chance to take a stroll down memory lane....LOL. IMO Eric Williams was the most dominant lineman I have ever seen BEFORE he had the car accident. After the wreck he was still pretty good, but never had the same mobility IMO that he had earlier. That dude was a one man wrecking crew, only guy I ever saw that could routinely dominate Reggie White. Heck...I remember one game where Pro bowl end William Fuller took himself out of the game out of the pure frustration of Williams dominating him so badly. In fact....IMO Williams was more dominant than Allen was until he had the wreck. We could sure use some of that again!

It was the head slap that Big E was notorious for. Though he would head butt too. :laugh2:

he would smack that dlinemen upside the head like he stole something. My god it was beautiful. He was one MEAN SOB....miss him big time.

(he was the closest olineman to Randy White in temperment and motor this team has ever had and I've been watching this team since 77'.) I would have LOVED to watch those two go at it in their primes in practice: my gosh, lock away the women and children!

I'd rather have Gabe Rarimi and JJ Watt (trade down scenario) than Cameron Jordan and Tyson Clabo.

Sorry but you simply do not take a RT with the 9th overall pick... You either move down in the draft and get another future 1st round pick or you simply wait until the 2nd round if you feel the RT is not in house already (the kid from Notre Dame taken last year...).

I really don't get this at all. If you can get a player that can be a stronghold at RT for you for the next 10 years, or even play LT how is that a reach??

I've heard people say that it's too early to take a RT that early, but it really doesn't make any sense to me. I would rather take a sure thing, then take a gamble on a DE.

Even if you know ahead of time that he's a 10 year starter with multiple Probowls?

Gabe is the closest thing I have to a "pet" player in the Draft.

If we trade down into the middle of the first, I have zero problem taking this kid.

Same here.

Nobody has captured my heart like Earl Thomas last year.

Pssssssttt,....I'll let you guys in on a little secret. Some of you may not know it now....but you WILL. Moffitt is almost as good. Im thinking when all is said and done Moffitt actually goes in the 2nd not the 3rd. More towards the end of the second though.

Guard is deep this year.

I say he goes in 3rd at the absolute best.

I say he'll be a slider if anything.

Lower than the 3rd wouldn't shock me at all.

Me either.

I don't think he is all that like some insist.

Figure out a way for the Cowboys to trade down and Watt and Carimi in the 20's.

If you can put together the surefire blueprint to pull that off, then please do send it to Valley Ranch. :D

Your right,......he can! And in a big way. ;)

Take this from the worlds biggest Badger fan.......There are no less than 4 defensive ends from the Big 10 that most probably will be 1st round picks this year.

I watched Carimi utterly dominate three of them. Those three would be Adrian Clayborne, Cam Heyward, and Ryan Kerrigan. I watched Gabe completely own all three of those guys in theyre games last season.

Clayborn was able to get the edge on Carimi 4 times resulting in three hurries, a sack and forced a fumble.

so "owning" him is an exaggeration.

although I do really like him as a player, he is not a world beater in pass blocking.

Moffitt will not last past 3. As long as he shows up good at the combine.

I must have missed that sack because I sure didn't see it. I did see the strip Clayborn was able to get by swiping at the ball as the QB was drawing back to pass (does that count as a sack?).

I would say without a doubt that Carimi absolutely owned Clayborn as far as his run-blocking.

SF traded up from 13 to 11 to take AD last year at RT.

This is a bad example but Cincy to Smith at 6.

Carimi is my favorite player in the draft, but I'm not taking him at 9.

Just pointing out some examples.
Find a way.

We need that guy. I'm not even into exaggerating in such a way when it comes to rookies, and you know that.

But we need that guy.

Yes. Ware has gotten quite a few of those.

If it means keeping Romo upright for 16 games you absolutely do it. Sure I would love to get him lower if a deal can be made but I have no problem snagging him at 9.
